Lying down in pain, waking up in pain, seeing terrifying sinful dreams, living in an empty house, and even when living alone in solitude, he will be deprived of his essence by those who steal essence, occasionally faint, suddenly feel fear and dread, the amount of food cannot be controlled, and the essence of what is eaten, drunk, chewed, and tasted cannot be well digested, worms are born in the stomach, becoming the root of many leprosy diseases, leading to many diseases. Also, the perception of discomfort cannot be obtained, I say that food is like the flesh and medicine of a son. Great wisdom, non-noble beings approach, noble beings abandon, leading to the acquisition of many faults, being abandoned by many virtues, the food of non-righteous people, bad food, how can flesh and blood be given to disciples? Great wisdom. I say that noble beings do not abandon, can obtain many virtues, abandon many faults, the food of former righteous people, good food, rice, barley, wheat, cardamom, broad beans, lentils and so on, as well as ghee, oil, honey, molasses, brown sugar, rock sugar, granulated sugar and other foods, are suitable and have been examined. Great wisdom, in the future, foolish people will discriminate in order to subdue, say many words, be influenced by the habits of meat-eaters, be very greedy for taste, and some will think that this is good food. Therefore, friends, ministers, relatives, and the assembly of relatives also abandoned him, let alone the city dwellers and the people of the country. Because he abandoned his own rule and country, he became extremely distressed. Great wisdom, Indra also once attained the position of the lord of the gods, but because of the fault of the habit of eating meat, he was transformed into the form of a hawk, doing the work of a bat and wearing its attire, which was extremely painful. King Shildan, who was innocent and compassionate to beings, was also put on a scale and suffered great pain. Great wisdom, having become accustomed to this in many lifetimes, even if he becomes the lord of the gods, Indra, he will still cause harm to himself and others, what more to say about others? Great wisdom, other people who became human kings were also carried away by strong horses and wandered in wild monasteries. In order to save their lives, they mated with lionesses and had children. Because of associating with lions, the king's son, called Barefoot, etc., also ate meat even though he became a human king because of the habit of the fault of eating meat in previous lives. Great wisdom, even in this life, in a village of seven households, if one is very greedy for meat and indulges in it improperly, one will be reborn as a cannibal Brahmin father and a cruel Brahmin mother. Great wisdom, those people in future lives, because of their attachment to the taste of meat, will be reborn as lions, tigers, leopards, wolves, hyenas, cats, foxes, owls, and other places where they eat a lot of meat, and as rakshasas who eat a lot of meat, and so on.

也會墮入極其兇暴的 জন্ম處。 墮入其中的衆生，即使要獲得人身也很困難，更何況是涅槃呢？ 智慧廣大者，吃肉的過患也包括這些。 經常親近肉食的人，當然會（墮入惡趣）。 如果能斷除肉食，功德將非常廣大。 智慧廣大者，幼稚的凡夫俗子們無法理解這些功德和過患，以及其他的道理。 智慧廣大者，爲了見到這些功德和過患，慈悲的菩薩宣說不應食用一切肉類。 智慧廣大者，如果無論如何都沒有人吃肉，那麽衆生也不會被殺害。 智慧廣大者，無罪的衆生因爲價錢而被殺害，這種情況占大多數，爲了其他原因而殺害的則很少。 智慧廣大者，貪戀味道是非常難以忍受的。 因爲過度親近肉味，人們甚至會吃人肉，更何況是鹿、家畜、鳥類和衆生身上的肉呢？ 智慧廣大者，被肉味貪欲所折磨的人們，會設置各種陷阱和羅網，鳥類、屠夫、漁夫等通過這些手段，以各種方式殺害在空中飛行、在地上行走、在水中游動的無罪衆生。 智慧廣大者，然而那些成爲獵人，內心兇殘如羅刹般毫無慈悲的人們，即使知道那是衆生，也仍然殺害並食用，心中永遠不會生起慈悲。 智慧廣大者，既然對於聲聞衆，不允許食用那些被認爲是允許的肉，即未經觀察、未被允許食用、未被命令食用的肉， 智慧廣大者，在未來的時代，我的教法中，那些出家並自稱是釋迦之子，手持袈裟法幢，心智愚鈍，被邪惡的思維所摧毀，對戒律進行多種分別，增長言論的積聚，貪戀味道的人，會提出種種吃肉的理由，宣揚這些道理，並且認爲這是在誹謗我。

It also causes one to fall into extremely fierce states of existence. Those who fall into them find it difficult even to obtain a human birth, let alone nirvana. O Great Intellect, the faults of eating meat also include these. Those who are very close to it will certainly be born (in lower realms). If one abstains from it, the merits will be very great. O Great Intellect, ordinary people with childish minds do not understand these merits and faults, and other reasons as well. O Great Intellect, in order to see these merits and faults, compassionate Bodhisattvas have declared that all meat should not be eaten. O Great Intellect, if no one eats meat in any way, then beings will not be killed for that reason. O Great Intellect, most of the innocent beings are killed for the sake of price, and few are killed for other reasons. O Great Intellect, craving for taste is very unbearable. Because of being too close to the taste of meat, people even eat human flesh, let alone the flesh of deer, livestock, birds, and other living beings. O Great Intellect, those who are tormented by the desire for the taste of meat set up such traps and nets, and through these, birds, butchers, fishermen, and others kill innocent beings who fly in the sky, walk on the ground, and swim in the water in various ways. O Great Intellect, however, those who have become hunters, with fierce minds like rakshasas, without compassion, even though they recognize them as living beings, still kill and eat them, and compassion never arises in their hearts. O Great Intellect, since even for the Shravakas, meat that is considered permissible, that is, meat that has not been examined, has not been allowed to be eaten, and has not been ordered to be eaten, is not acceptable, O Great Intellect, in the future, in my teachings, those who are ordained and claim to be sons of Shakya, holding the banner of the saffron robe, with dull minds, destroyed by perverse thoughts, making many distinctions about discipline, increasing the accumulation of speech, attached to the craving for taste, will present various reasons for eating meat, and will proclaim these reasons, and will think that they are slandering me.
