在难忍的地狱中， 作恶业者将前往。 在凄惨的哀嚎声中， 食肉者将被烹煮。 具有三种清净的肉， 未经观察、未经索取， 也无劝请的情况， 因此肉是不可食用的。 瑜伽士不应食肉， 我与诸佛皆已宣说。 众生互相啖食， 将生于食肉者的族类中。 气味不佳且受人鄙视， 且将转生为疯癫之人。 将反复转生为旃陀罗、屠夫， 以及屠宰者。 将转生于微小昆虫的住处， 以及食肉者的族类中。 那些低下的人们， 将转生于罗刹和猫的胎中。 《象力经》、《大云经》、 《涅槃经》、《指鬘经》和 《楞伽经》中也说， 我已彻底谴责肉。 对于佛、菩萨和 声闻所谴责的， 不知羞耻地食用， 将恒常转生为疯癫之人。 为了舍弃肉等， 将转生为婆罗门种姓或瑜伽士， 具有智慧和财富之人。 通过眼见、耳闻和怀疑， 一切肉类都应彻底谴责。 转生于食肉者族类中的， 思辨者们不会明白。 正如贪欲会从解脱中， 制造障碍一样， 肉和酒等， 也会制造障碍。 在未来的时代里， 食肉的愚痴之人会说： “肉没有罪过，可以食用”， 他们会说这是佛陀所说的。 食物如同药物一般， 又如亲生子之肉一般， 瑜伽士应适量食用， 不适宜的则不应食用。 与狮子、老虎和 狐狸等相处， 我以慈爱安住于此， 恒常在一切情况下都加以谴责。 因为与解脱之法相违背， 肉会使人们感到恐惧。 因此不应食用， 这是圣者的旗帜。 《楞伽经》一切佛语之精华中，不食肉品第七品完。 第七品，不食肉品。

Even in the unbearable hells, those with sinful deeds will go. Amidst unbearable cries and laments, those meat-eaters will be cooked. As for meats that are pure in three ways, not investigated, not requested, and without any urging, therefore, meat is not to be eaten. Yoga practitioners should not eat meat, I and the Buddhas have all declared. Living beings eating each other, will be born into the lineage of meat-eaters. They will be born with unpleasant odors and despised, and will be born as madmen. They will be repeatedly born as outcastes, butchers, and those who slaughter. They will be born in the dwelling places of tiny insects, and in the lineage of meat-eaters. Those lowest of people, will be born in the wombs of rakshasas and cats. In the Sutra of Elephant Strength, the Great Cloud Sutra, the Nirvana Sutra, the Angulimala Sutra, and the Lankavatara Sutra as well, I have thoroughly condemned meat. Those who shamelessly eat what the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Shravakas have condemned, will always be born as madmen. Because of abandoning meat and the like, they will be born into Brahmin families or as yoga practitioners, possessing wisdom and wealth. Through seeing, hearing, and suspicion, all meats should be thoroughly condemned. Those born into the lineage of meat-eaters, the logicians will not understand. Just as desire creates obstacles from liberation, so too, meat and alcohol, will create obstacles. In the future, the foolish meat-eaters will say, "Meat is without sin, it is permissible," they will say that this was spoken by the Buddha. Food is like medicine, and like the flesh of one's own child, yogis should consume food in moderation, and not consume what is unsuitable. Associating with lions, tigers, and foxes and the like, I abide here with love, and always condemn it in every way. Because it contradicts the Dharma of liberation, meat causes people to be frightened. Therefore, it should not be eaten, this is the banner of the noble ones.
