Those images are one's own distinctions, because seeing form and formlessness, therefore it is neither form nor formlessness. Great wisdom, yet for children, the distinctions that appear in their own minds appear like form. Similarly, great wisdom, the images of one's own mind also appear in the form of views of oneness, otherness, both, and neither. Great wisdom, for example, the echo of a rock is a sound that arises from the meeting of name, flowing water, and wind, and it sounds like sound and non-sound, so it is neither a real thing nor is it without a real thing. Similarly, great wisdom, the views of existence, non-existence, oneness, otherness, both, and neither, all the distinctions of one's own mind's habits appear. Great wisdom, for example, on the ground where grass, tree sap, and twigs are not separated, when it meets the sun, the heat waves like a mirage move violently, and because those are attachment and non-attachment, they are neither real things nor are they without real things. Similarly, great wisdom, the discriminating consciousness of children, the play of beginningless time, stained by the habits of evil deeds, such as birth, destruction, dwelling, oneness, otherness, both, neither, existence, non-existence, and the saints, each in their own way as the reality of wisdom, also wave like a mirage. Great wisdom, for example, a corpse and a person of illusion, although without sentient beings, if combined with a ghost, they do the work of moving, and because of going and not going, children become attached to the distinction of non-existence. Similarly, great wisdom, each of the children who fall into the thoughts of heretics with evil views become attached to speaking of oneness and otherness, which is a false conjecture about what is not true. Therefore, great wisdom, your birth, non-birth, destruction, dwelling, oneness, otherness, both, neither, existence, non-existence, and the saints each

One should be free from the discriminating thoughts of comprehending one's own things. In this regard, it should be said: The five aggregates and consciousness are like the shadow of a tree in water. Appearances are like illusions and dreams. Do not think with discriminating consciousness. These three realms of existence are like dreams, like tangled hair knots and illusions. The mirage is like water in motion. If one meditates on it, one will be liberated. The mirage that deceives the mind, how it sways in the spring, deer perceive it as water, but there is no real thing in it. Likewise, the seed of consciousness also sways greatly in the field of vision. Children grasp it as arising, like the blurred vision of those with cataracts. From beginningless samsara, the clinging to reality is taken up by children. Just as a nail is hammered into a nail, clinging is deceived and dispelled. Illusion, corpses, and revolving wheels, dreams, lightning, and clouds, when beings see these, the three realms are completely cut off, and they are liberated. There is no discriminating consciousness here, just like a mirage in the sky. If one understands all phenomena in this way, then one does not cling to even a little. This discriminating consciousness is only a name, it does not exist by its own nature. On whatever one speculates about these, those aggregates are like tangled hair knots. Drawings, hair knots, and tangled threads, illusions, dreams, cities of gandharvas, fire wheels and mirages, appear to people where there is nothing. Likewise, permanence and impermanence, one and two, and neither two, due to the connection of beginningless faults, ignorant children are extremely attached. Eyes, mirrors, all waters, vessels, and jewels, in them images appear, but the images are nowhere to be found. The mind that appears as real is also like that, various forms are like mirages, just as they appear in the sky, also like a dream and a mirage. Great wisdom, furthermore, the Dharma taught by the Tathagatas is liberation from the four extremes, that is, abandoning all aspects of one and different, both and neither, liberation from existence and non-existence, addition and subtraction. Great wisdom, the Dharma taught by the Tathagatas is truth and dependent origination, the path and cessation, and the means of entering liberation.
