For those who are completely extinguished by their very nature, there is nothing whatsoever to be stopped. Therefore, considering the very nature of no self-nature, I have taught that all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and completely extinguished by their very nature. Truly sublime, and again, considering the true absence of self-nature, which is distinguished by the absence of self in phenomena, I have taught that all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and completely extinguished by their very nature. Why is that? Because in this way, the true absence of self-nature, which is distinguished by the absence of self in phenomena, is only that which abides constantly, in constant times, and perpetually, in perpetual times. That is the dharma-nature of all dharmas, unconditioned, and free from all afflictions. In constant, constant times, and in perpetual, perpetual times, that which abides by that very dharma-nature, unconditioned, is unborn and unceasing because it is unconditioned. And that is primordially peaceful and completely extinguished by its very nature because it is free from all afflictions. Therefore, considering the true absence of self-nature, which is distinguished by the absence of self in phenomena, I have taught that all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and completely extinguished by their very nature. Truly sublime, I say that in the realm of sentient beings, I see the self-nature that is conceptually constructed by sentient beings as distinct by its very nature, and I also see the dependent nature and the perfectly established nature as distinct by their very nature. Therefore, I do not impose the three aspects of no self-nature, but sentient beings impute the conceptually constructed nature onto the dependent and perfectly established natures. Thus, they apply terms following the characteristics of the conceptually constructed nature onto the dependent and perfectly established natures. In whatever way they apply terms, in that way the mind habituated by applying terms is connected with the applied terms, or with the latent tendencies of the applied terms, they conceptually construct the dependent and perfectly established natures.

Then they manifestly cling to the characteristic of own-being. As they manifestly cling, so they become the cause and condition for manifestly clinging to the imputed characteristic in the other-dependent own-being, and thereby they generate the other-dependent own-being in the future. Because of that, they are also completely defiled by the complete defilement of afflictions, and they are also completely defiled by the complete defilement of karma and birth. For a long time, they wander and revolve in hell beings, or in animals, or in hungry ghosts, or in gods, or in demi-gods, or in humans, and therefore they do not transcend cyclic existence. To those beings who, in that ultimate and authentic noble one, have not generated roots of virtue from the very beginning, whose obscurations are not completely purified, whose continuums are not completely ripened, who do not have much faith, and who have not properly accumulated the accumulations of merit and wisdom, I teach the Dharma beginning with the fact that birth is without own-being. Having heard that Dharma, they understand that conditioned phenomena that arise dependently are impermanent, unstable, unreliable, and of the nature of change. They then become disgusted and weary of all conditioned phenomena. Having become disgusted and weary, they turn away from evil. They do not commit any evil and rely on virtue. By relying on virtue, they generate roots of virtue that have not been generated. They also completely purify obscurations that have not been completely purified. They also completely ripen continuums that have not been completely ripened. Because of that, their faith increases and the accumulations of merit and wisdom are properly accumulated. Although they thus properly accomplish the generation of roots of virtue up to the accumulation of merit and wisdom, they do not know the two aspects of birth without own-being—the characteristic of own-beinglessness and the ultimate own-beinglessness—as they truly are. Therefore, they do not truly become weary of all conditioned phenomena, they do not truly become free from desire, and they do not truly become liberated.
