ཤིང་ར་བ་ཏིལ་གྱི་འབྲུས་ཡོངས་སུ་གང་བ་དེ་ལས་ཏིལ་གྱི་འབྲུ་གཅིག་ཕྱི་རོལ་ཏུ་བོར་ཏེ། དེ་ལྟ་བུའི་ཚུལ་དུ་མི་དེས་ཏིལ་གྱི་འབྲུ་དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་ཟད་པར་བྱས་ལ་ར་བ་དེའི་རྨང་ཡང་མེད་གཞི་ཡང་མེད་པར་གྱུར་དུ་ཟིན་ཀྱང་བསྐལ་པ་ནི་ཟད་པར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་གཞན་ཡང་འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ། དཔེར་ན་རི་རྔམས་སུ་དཔག་ཚད་ལྔ་བཅུ། འཕང་དུ་དཔག་ཚད་བཅུ་ གཉིས་པ་ཞིག་ཡོད་ལ། དེ་ནས་མི་ལ་ལ་ཞིག་གིས་རི་དེའི་ངོས་ལ་ཁྱིམ་བརྩིགས་ཏེ་དུས་རིང་པོ་ལོ་བརྒྱ་འདས་ཤིང་ཀ་ཤི་ཀའི་རས་ཀྱིས་ལན་ཅིག་ཕྱིས་ཏེ་དེ་ལྟར་བྱས་པས་རི་དེ་ཟད་པར་གྱུར་དུ་ཟིན་ཀྱང་བསྐལ་པ་ནི་ཟད་པར་མི་འགྱུར་ཏེ། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་བསྐལ་པའི་ཚད་ནི་དེ་ཡིན་ནོ། །དེ་ནས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་སྟན་ལས་ལངས་ཏེ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་བསྔོ་བ་གཅིག་གིས་ཀྱང་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོ་མང་དུ་སྐྱེད་པ་ནི་འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ། བདེ་བར་ཚེའི་ཚད་བསྐལ་པ་བརྒྱད་ཅུ་ཐུབ་པར་འགྱུར་ན་གང་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་བསྟན་པ་ལ་བསྙེན་བཀུར་ཤིན་ཏུ་མང་པོར་བགྱིད་པ་ལྟ་སྨོས་ཀྱང་ཅི་འཚལ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་ཉོན་ཅིག །གང་ཟུང་གི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་གྲངས་ཐོས་པ་དེའི་ཚེའི་ཚད་ཀྱང་བསྐལ་པ་བརྒྱ་ཁྲི་བཞི་སྟོང་ཐུབ་པར་འགྱུར་ན། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་གང་ཟུང་གི་མདོ་ཡི་གེར་འདྲིར་འཇུག་པ་དང་། ཀློག་པ་ལྟ་ཅི་སྨོས་ཏེ། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་དེ་ནི་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོ་རབ་ཏུ་མང་པོ་བསྐྱེད་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་སེམས་དང་བ་གང་ཞིག་ཟུང་གི་མདོ་ལ་སྙིང་ཐག་པ་ནས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བ་དེ་ནི་བསྐལ་པ་དགུ་བཅུ་རྩ་དགུ་ཚེ་རབས་དྲན་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །བསྐལ་པ་དྲུག་ཅུའི་བར་དུ་འཁོར་ལོས་སྒྱུར་བའི་རྒྱལ་པོར་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཚེ་འདི་ལ་ཡང་ཐམས་ཅད་དགའ་བར་འགྱུར་ཏེ། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་དེ་ནི་མཚོན་གྱིས་འཆི་བའི་དུས་བྱེད་པར་མི་འགྱུར། དུག་གིས་འཆི་བའི་དུས་བྱེད་པར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་ལ་བྱད་ཀྱིས་ཚུགས་པར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །འཆི་ཁར་ཡང་སངས་རྒྱས་བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་དགུ་བཅུ་རྩ་དགུ་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་མཐོང་བར་འགྱུར་ཏེ། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་དེ་དག་གིས་ཀྱང་དེ་ལ་སྐྱེས་བུ་དམ་པ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཟུང་གི་མདོའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་གྲངས་ཆེན་པོ་ལེགས་པར་བཤད་པ་ཐོས་པས་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོ་འདི་སྐྱེས་ཏེ། སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་དགུ་བཅུ་རྩ་དགུ་པོ་དེ་དག་གིས་ཀྱང་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཁམས་སོ་སོར་ལུང་སྟོན་པར་འགྱུར་ན། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་གང་ཟུང་གི་མདོའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་གྲངས་ཆེན་པོ་འདི་མཐའ་དག་རྫོགས་པར་རྒྱ་ཆེར་ཐོས་པ་ལྟ་ཅི་སྨོས་ཀྱིས་མ་འཇིགས་ཤིག་ཅེས་དབུགས་འབྱིན་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་ དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་བདག་གིས་ཀྱང་ཟུང་གི་མདོའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་གྲངས་ཆེན་པོ་མཉན་པར་བགྱི་ན། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་བདག་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོ་ཇི་ཙམ་ཞིག་བསྐྱེད་པར་འགྱུར། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་གང་གཱའི་ཀླུང་གི་བྱེ་མ་དང་མཉམ་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོ་ཇི་སྙེད་པར་སེམས་ཅན་དེ་ཡང་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་ཕུང་པོ་དེ་སྙེད་བསྐྱེད་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །གསོལ་པ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ནམ་བདག་གི་ཟུང་གི་མདོའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་གྲངས་ཆེན་པོ་ཉན་པ་དེ་ན། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ངོམས་མ་འཚལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་ཁྱོད་ཆོས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ངོམས་མི་ཤེས་པ་ནི་ལེགས་སོ་ལེགས་སོ། །ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་ང་ཡང་ཆོས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ངོམས་མི་ཤེས་ན། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་བྱིས་པ་སོ་སོའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ངོམས་མི་མྱོང་བར་བྱ་བ་ལྟ་ཅི་སྨོས། ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུའམ་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་གང་ལ་ལ་ཐེག་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ་དད་པ་བསྐྱེད་པ་དེ་བསྐལ་པ་སྟོང་དུ་ལོག་པར་ལྟུང་བར་འགྲོ་བར་མི་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་ལྔ་སྟོང་དུ་དུད་འགྲོར་སྐྱེ་བར་མི་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་ཁྲི་ཉིས་སྟོང་དུ་བློ་ངན་པར་མི་འགྱུར་བསྐལ་པ་ཁྲི་བརྒྱད་སྟོང་དུ་མཐའ་འཁོབ་ཏུ་སྐྱེ་བོའི་ནང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བར་མི་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་ཉི་ཁྲིར་རབ་ཏུ་སྦྱིན་པ་ལ་དཔའ་བར་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་ཉི་ཁྲི་ལྔ་སྟོང་དུ་ལྷའི་འཇིག་རྟེན་དུ་སྐྱེ་བར་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་སུམ་ཁྲི་ལྔ་སྟོང་དུ་ཚངས་པར་སྤྱད་པ་སྤྱོད་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་བསྐལ་པ་བཞི་ཁྲིར་ཁྱིམ་གྱིས་གནས་ནས་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་ལྔ་ཁྲིར་ཆོས་འཛིན་པར་འགྱུར། བསྐལ་པ་དྲུག་ཁྲི་ལྔ་སྟོང་དུ་འཆི་བ་རྗེས་སུ་དྲན་པ་སྒོམ་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུའམ། རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་དེ་ལ་སྡིག་པའི་ལས་ཅུང་ཟད་ཀྱང་འབྱུང་བར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་ལ་བདུད་སྡིག་ཅན་གྱིས་གླགས་རྙེད་པར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །ནམ་དུ་ཡང་མའི་མངལ་དུ་སྐྱེ་བར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔའ་བ་གང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་གྲངས་འདི་ཐོས་པ་དེ་དག་ནི་ག

If a wooden container is completely filled with sesame seeds, and then one sesame seed falls out of it. In this way, the person uses up all the sesame seeds, and the foundation and base of that container no longer exist, but the kalpa (Sanskrit: कल्प, kalpa, long period of time) will not be exhausted. Universally Brave, there is another example like this: For example, there is a mountain that is fifty yojanas (Sanskrit: योजन, yojana, ancient Indian unit of length) in width and twelve yojanas in height. Then, someone builds houses on the surface of that mountain, and after a long time, a hundred years pass, and they wipe it once with Kashi (Sanskrit: काशि, Kashi, ancient Indian place name) cloth, and by doing so, even if that mountain eventually disappears, the kalpa will not be exhausted. Universally Brave, that is the measure of a kalpa. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva (Sanskrit: बोधिसत्त्व महासत्त्व, bodhisattva mahāsattva, Bodhisattva Mahasattva) Universally Brave rose from his seat and said to the Bhagavan (Sanskrit: भगवन्, bhagavan, Blessed One) these words: Blessed One, even with just one dedication (Sanskrit: परिणामना, parināmanā, dedication of merit), one can increase such a great accumulation of merit. If one can live happily for eighty kalpas, then what need is there to mention making extremely numerous offerings to the teachings of a Tathagata (Sanskrit: तथागत, tathāgata, Thus Come One) like you? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, listen. If someone hears the Dharma category of the Twin Sutra, then his lifespan can also last for one hundred million four thousand kalpas. Universally Brave, what need is there to mention having someone copy and recite the Twin Sutra? Universally Brave, that will increase an extremely great accumulation of merit. Universally Brave, if someone with a joyful mind prostrates from the depths of their heart to the Twin Sutra, then he will be able to remember ninety-nine kalpas of lifetimes. For sixty kalpas, he will become a Chakravartin (Sanskrit: चक्रवर्तिन्, chakravartin, Wheel-Turning King). In this life, everything will make him happy. Universally Brave, that person will not die by the sword, nor will he die by poison. He will not be harmed by curses. At the time of death, he will directly see ninety-nine kotis (Sanskrit: कोटी, koṭi, Indian numerical unit) of Buddhas. Universally Brave, those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, will also say to him: Good man, you have heard the great Dharma category of the Twin Sutra, and therefore this accumulation of merit has arisen. Encouragement will be given. Then, to the Bhagavan, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva All Courageous, spoke thus: Bhagavan, if I also listen to the great Dharma chapter of the Sutra of Pairs, Bhagavan, how much merit will I accumulate? The Bhagavan said: All Courageous, as many merit accumulations as there are Buddhas, Bhagavan, equal to the sands of the Ganges River, that sentient being will also accumulate that many merit accumulations. He reported: Bhagavan, whenever I listen to the great Dharma chapter of the Sutra of Pairs, Bhagavan, I will never be satisfied. The Bhagavan said: All Courageous, it is excellent, excellent that you are not satisfied with the Dharma! All Courageous, if I am also not satisfied with the Dharma, All Courageous, what need is there to say that children, individual beings, will not be satisfied? All Courageous, any son or daughter of good family who generates faith in the Mahayana will not fall into evil destinies for a thousand kalpas. They will not be reborn as animals for five thousand kalpas. They will not become foolish for twelve thousand kalpas, and they will not be born among people in border regions for eighteen thousand kalpas. For twenty thousand kalpas, they will be courageous in giving. For twenty-five thousand kalpas, they will be born in the heavenly realms. For thirty-five thousand kalpas, they will practice pure conduct. For forty thousand kalpas, they will renounce the household life. For fifty thousand kalpas, they will uphold the Dharma. For sixty-five thousand kalpas, they will meditate on mindfulness of death. All Courageous, that son or daughter of good family will not generate even a small amount of sinful actions.
