The thirty-three heavens and the 680,000 gods of the Brahma realm, and the many hundreds of thousands of gods between Akanishta, and also from the east, south, west, and north, hundreds of thousands of sons of gods gathered, and from among them, those sons of gods who are most worthy of reverence spoke these verses to that great assembly of gods: How should we think correctly? May the kings of the gods listen to these words. Abandoning the joy of desire, wealth, meditation, and supreme bliss, we serve this pure and holy being. When descending into the womb, dwelling in the womb, and at the time of birth, we should offer the great being with utmost reverence. If we protect the sage who is protected by merit, then those with hateful thoughts will not find an opportunity. By proclaiming beautiful songs, melodious music, and sounds, praising the qualities of the one who possesses the ocean of virtues, may those who hear this generate the supreme mind of enlightenment, and may all gods and humans be filled with joy. Fill the king's palace with scattered flowers, fumigate with the best black agarwood, and spread fragrance. May the fragrance of that incense make the gods and humans rejoice, and may they be free from disease and plague, and attain happiness. Mandara flowers and flowers that gather everywhere, and cooling, extremely cooling sala trees and various manifesting flowers, and the deeds and virtuous actions that arise from beautiful flowers, for the sake of offering, may they fill the entire city of Kapilavastu. As long as he dwells in the womb, unpolluted by the three stains, as long as he has not yet been born, finally eliminating old age and death, during that time, we will serve with pure minds. We think that we should offer to the one who possesses great wisdom. After being born and taking seven steps, Indra and Brahma, holding him in their hands, cooling his body with scented water, seeing that completely pure being, the gods and humans obtained great benefits. As long as he conforms to the world, subduing the afflictions of desire, dwelling among the consorts, as long as he has not yet renounced all kingship and left home, during that time, we will serve with faithful minds. As long as he wears the robes, heading towards enlightenment.
