Kashyapa, I do not say that an ascetic is judged by the color and shape of their marks, but I say that an ascetic who diligently practices the Dharma of merit is an ascetic. Kashyapa, an ascetic should wear the robes with a mind free from defilements. Why is that? Kashyapa, I allow the undefiled to wear the robes. Kashyapa, those who wear the robes with defilements, I say that they are all moths in the robes, except for those who believe with a pure mind. Why is that? Because it is the emblem of the noble ones, these garments are suitable for those who practice renunciation and detachment, they are in accordance with peace and in accordance with loving-kindness. Kashyapa, what is the emblem of the noble ones? Kashyapa, these twelve are the emblems of the noble ones. What are the twelve? Kashyapa, discipline is the emblem of the noble ones, meditation is the emblem of the noble ones, wisdom is the emblem of the noble ones, liberation is the emblem of the noble ones, the wisdom vision of liberation
