For example, the seeds of saffron or knotgrass are white in nature. Within those seeds, sprouts are not visible, flowers are not visible, and colors are not visible. However, if the seeds are planted in the soil and completely moistened by the water element, the sprouts will visibly grow, and then red, white, or blue flowers will appear. However, those colors do not exist within the seeds, and without seeds, colors and sprouts will not arise. Similarly, this realm of consciousness, after abandoning the body, although it has the appearance of a human body, does not possess the source of the senses that produce fleshly sensations. It possesses divine eyes and divine ears, and is the nature of fully knowing the sources of sound, smell, taste, and dharma. And it will think: "Whatever I have done, that is me." The body is also gathered by the cause of consciousness. For example, a silkworm produces silk threads from its own body, then makes a cocoon, and dies within it. Similarly, this realm of consciousness also creates a body, and like a silkworm, it also abandons the body and disappears. For example, a lotus grows from the water, and although it clearly possesses heavenly fragrance and color, the water element is not discernible in the white lotus, and it does not appear within it. Where the seed exists, color, fragrance, and taste will exist. Similarly, wherever this realm of consciousness migrates and goes, it will migrate to the objects of the senses, and feelings, mind, and the realm of dharma will also migrate and go there. For example, wherever a wish-fulfilling jewel goes, all enjoyments will migrate and go there. For example, the rays of light associated with the sun, wherever the sun goes, the rays of light will also follow. Similarly, wherever this realm of consciousness migrates, feelings, perception, and the realm of dharma will also migrate and go there. Furthermore, after this realm of consciousness abandons the body, it is fully endowed with the contact of all the senses.

It enables the accomplishment of a body without flesh and without bones. The cause of taking that body is form. The senses and objects are experienced by feeling. Memory is seen by the divine eye, and both virtue and non-virtue are fully taken. For example, fruits such as walnuts, peaches, mangoes, mangosteens, apples, wood apples, and kapittha achieve various tastes. Each taste, such as spicy, bitter, sour, salty, and astringent, matures distinctly. Some become spicy, some become sour, and some become sweet. Wherever the seeds of those fruits are transferred after they disappear, the taste also transfers there. Similarly, wherever this realm of consciousness transfers, feeling also transfers there. Merit, non-merit, and memory also transfer. Furthermore, this realm of consciousness, having completely abandoned the body, thoroughly knows, "I have completely abandoned this," therefore, this is known as the realm of consciousness. It also thoroughly knows virtuous actions, and it also thoroughly knows non-virtuous actions. "These actions follow after me, and I also follow after these actions," thus thoroughly knowing, therefore it is called consciousness. Furthermore, thoroughly knowing all the actions of this body, therefore it is called consciousness. For example, the element of wind sometimes becomes cold and sometimes becomes hot, sometimes it emits a fragrance and sometimes it emits a foul odor. All these actions arise from the causes of the element of wind, but the element of wind itself is not form, but it appears by the cause of taking. Just as the element of wind shakes trees and acts as a cause for experiencing cold and heat, thereby the element of wind is known, similarly, this realm of consciousness is also not form, but by the cause of taking form, the cause of taking desire, the cause of taking views, and the cause of taking vows and holding asceticism as supreme, feeling is experienced. By the cause of feeling, body and color arise and are accomplished, therefore it is called consciousness. Then, the young merchant Chandra Sampanna arose from his seat.

I said, with palms joined, I prayed to the Blessed One like this: Blessed One, how should form be viewed? The Blessed One said: Chandraprabha, well done, well done! Thus, the wise should understand the characteristics of the wise. Chandraprabha, whether it is good or bad in color, it consists of complete flesh, veins, tendons, head, neck, bones, feet, intestines, kidneys, waist, heart, stomach, lungs, feces, urine, bladder, abdomen, cecum, fat, serum, pus, blood, bile, phlegm, mucus, hair, beard, nails, body hair, and skin covering, which is extremely ugly and relies on many impure things. Whatever form it may be, all of these are manifested and accomplished from the four great elements and with the four great elements as the cause, and also accomplished by the condition of the meeting of parents. Therefore, it is said to be the cause of taking form. Chandraprabha, the hardness of the body is the earth element. The wetness is the water element. The warmth and what makes it mature is the fire element. The movement, contraction, and extension are the wind element. The complete understanding of the body, the element of taste, the element of smell, the element of sound, the element of touch, and memory are called the element of consciousness. Then, the young merchant Chandraprabha prayed to the Blessed One like this: Blessed One, at the time of death, how does this consciousness completely abandon the form element? How does consciousness arise from the body? After abandoning the body, how does one perceive that this is my body? The Blessed One said: Chandraprabha, here, this body exists, and when the time is reversed, the elements will be completely abandoned. For example, when milk and water are mixed together and placed together, when they come into contact with fire, the milk will also become another part, and the water will also become another part, and the oily part of the milk
