如果我立刻将王子抛弃在胜幢园林的坑中而置之不理，是否可以呢？如来是全知，具有无碍的智慧眼，如来知道会发生那样的事，如来也会那样加持的。但到处游走的妙音女，寿命已尽，非因鬼怪所食，而是因他人的损害，以不如法的方式死亡的缘故。因为这样的缘故，其他的外道们啊！这样，佛的智慧是怎样令众生的善法增长，善根增长呢？怎样安立于他，就怎样安立他，这是因为自己的过失而受到严厉的惩罚。那时，世尊七天没有进入城市，降伏了六十亿百千的天神，七天过后，四众弟子来到世尊面前，世尊为了使八万四千众生生起智慧之见，就这样为他们宣说佛法，这也是如来的善巧方便。为什么如来与比丘僧团一起应允在无恼热的地方安居，三个月里让人们准备，供养婆罗门无恼热的马料呢？善男子，如来虽然知道那个施主迎请如来与比丘僧团，却不作画像，但他明知故犯，置之不理。为什么呢？如来与比丘僧团在三个月里食用那些马料的五百匹马，都是已经如实进入菩萨乘，往昔对胜者作过殊胜之事的人。他们因恶友的影响，造作了恶业和下劣之业，并且积聚了这些业，因此，这些业使他们投生于畜生道，成为五百匹马。

The Tathagata is omniscient, possessing unobstructed wisdom and vision. The Tathagata knows that such a thing would happen, and the Tathagata would also bestow such blessings. However, the wandering Sound of Beauty maiden, her lifespan exhausted, not consumed by demons, but due to the harm of others, dies in an improper manner. For this reason, other non-Buddhists! In this way, how does the Buddha's wisdom cause the white dharma of sentient beings to increase, and the roots of virtue to grow? How to establish him, so establish him, this is because of one's own faults and is severely punished. At that time, the Blessed One did not enter the city for seven days, subdued sixty billion hundred thousand gods, and after those seven days, the fourfold assembly came to the Blessed One. In order for eighty-four thousand sentient beings to generate the sight of wisdom, the Blessed One taught them the Dharma in this way, and this is also the skillful means of the Tathagata. Why did the Tathagata, together with the Sangha of monks, agree to reside in the place of no annoyance, and for three months let the people prepare and offer the Brahmin's horse feed of no annoyance? Son of good family, although the Tathagata knew that the householder invited the Tathagata and the Sangha of monks, he did not make a portrait, but he knowingly violated it and ignored it. Why? The five hundred horses that the Tathagata and the Sangha of monks ate horse feed for three months were all those who had truly entered the Bodhisattva vehicle and had done excellent deeds for the Victorious One in the past. Due to the influence of evil friends, they committed evil deeds and inferior deeds, and accumulated these deeds. Therefore, these deeds caused them to be born in the animal realm, becoming five hundred horses.

在那成百上千匹马中，有一匹名叫“善解”的马，是菩萨日光藏以愿力的力量，随愿化生在那里的。那五百匹马，当它们先前是人的时候，是日光藏菩萨让它们真实地受持菩提心的，因此，为了使它们完全解脱，为了使它们完全成熟，（日光藏菩萨）才化生在那里。那匹善解马，以意念的力量，使那五百匹马全部回忆起前世，并且使它们的菩提心也显现出来。种姓之子，因此，如来怜悯那五百匹化身为马的菩萨，如来为了那些转生为旁生之道的众生，发誓在那里安住三个夏季月。在那里，那五百匹马的饲料大麦，分一半供养给那五百位比丘。善解马的饲料大麦，分一半供养给如来，一半是善解马自己吃。那匹善解马用马的语言，让那五百匹马全部忏悔罪业，并且让它们向佛陀等比丘僧众顶礼。那匹善解马对那五百匹马这样说：“你们的饲料大麦，一半由如来和比丘僧众享用。”也让它们明白了。就这样，那五百匹马忏悔罪业，并且对佛陀等比丘僧众生起信心，在那三个月过去之后，在其他时候，那五百匹马全部死亡并转生，与兜率天的天人们同等，成为天人之后，它们又向如来供养食物，恭敬承事，尊为上师，绘制画像，进行供养。如来也为了它们，无论如何也要使它们必定证得无上正等正觉，就这样为它们宣说佛法。调伏和饲养那五百匹马的马夫也是如此。

Among those hundreds and thousands of horses, there was one horse named "Well-Understanding," who was the Bodhisattva Sunlight Essence, born there intentionally by the power of aspiration. All those five hundred horses, when they were previously humans, were made to truly uphold the Bodhicitta by that Bodhisattva Sunlight Essence himself. Therefore, in order to completely liberate them and to completely ripen them, he was born there. That Well-Understanding horse, by the power of his mind, caused all those five hundred horses to remember their previous lives, and also caused their Bodhicitta to manifest. Son of the lineage, therefore, the Tathagata, out of compassion for those five hundred Bodhisattvas who had become horses, the Tathagata vowed to stay there for three summer months for the sake of those beings born in the animal realm. There, half of the barley that was the fodder of those five hundred horses was offered to those five hundred monks. Half of the barley that was the fodder of the Well-Understanding horse was offered to the Tathagata, and half was eaten by the Well-Understanding horse himself. That Well-Understanding horse, in the language of horses, caused all those five hundred horses to confess their sins, and also caused them to prostrate to the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha. That Well-Understanding horse said to those five hundred horses, "Half of your fodder barley is enjoyed by the Tathagata and the Sangha of monks." He also made them understand. In this way, those five hundred horses confessed their sins and generated faith in the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha. After those three months had passed, at another time, all those five hundred horses died and were reborn, equal to the gods of Tushita, and having become gods, they again offered food to the Tathagata, respectfully served him, revered him as their teacher, painted his image, and made offerings. The Tathagata also taught them the Dharma in such a way that they would certainly attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The horse herder who tamed and fed those five hundred horses was also the same.

逝者授记为独觉 名为极调伏心。如来对马调教师也授记说，这位也曾供养无数佛陀世尊，圆满了菩提方面的诸法，之后将成为如来、阿罗汉、正等觉，名为极调伏心，将出现在世间。种姓之子，虽然如此，但凡是人的食物，对于如来来说，没有丝毫不可口的。种姓之子，如果仔细观察，假如如来为了食物而享用木头、土块、瓦片、碎石等，那么木头、土块、瓦片、碎石等那些味道，以及味道的殊胜差别，即使在三千大千世界中也没有。这是为什么呢？种姓之子，因为如来具有大丈夫相，具有味道的殊胜，因此，如来之身一旦食用所有不可口的食物，立即会具有超越天食的味道。种姓之子，因此，你应该这样理解，如来的所有食物都是可口的。种姓之子，当时，比丘阿难心想：这位如来舍弃了转轮王的王位而出家，却像我一样食用马料的麦子。他感到不悦。如来观察到他的心思，便问阿难： 你知道这是什么味道吗？然后给了他一粒麦子。他吃了之后感到惊奇，对我说：世尊，我出生于王族，在王族中长大，世尊，我以前从未尝过如此美味。凭借着这个加持，比丘阿难不再吃其他食物，感到快乐和舒适，度过了七天。种姓之子们啊！

The Tathagata also prophesied about the horse trainer, saying, "This one has also made offerings to countless Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and has completely perfected the Dharma related to the aspects of Bodhi. Afterwards, he will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly enlightened Buddha, named 'Extremely Subdued Mind,' and will appear in the world." Son of the lineage, although it is so, whatever human food is, there is nothing at all unpalatable to the Tathagata. Son of the lineage, if you examine closely, if the Tathagata were to enjoy wood, clods, tiles, pebbles, etc., for the sake of food, then such tastes of wood, clods, tiles, pebbles, etc., and such excellent differences in taste, would not exist anywhere even in the three-thousand great-thousand world system. Why is that? Son of the lineage, because the Tathagata possesses the marks of a great being and is endowed with the excellence of taste, therefore, as soon as the Tathagata's body consumes all unpalatable food, it immediately becomes endowed with a taste that surpasses even divine food. Son of the lineage, therefore, in that way, you should understand that all the Tathagata's food is palatable. Son of the lineage, at that time, the Bhikshu Ananda thought to himself: "This Tathagata has renounced the kingdom of a Chakravartin and has gone forth, yet he eats barley like the horse feed that I eat." He became displeased. The Tathagata, perceiving his thoughts, asked Ananda: "Do you know what this tastes like?" Then he gave him a grain of barley. After he ate it, he was amazed and said to me: "Bhagavan, I was born into a royal family and grew up well in a royal family. Bhagavan, I have never tasted such an excellent taste before." By that blessing, the Bhikshu Ananda did not eat other food and spent seven days in joy and comfort. Sons of the lineage!
