།མཐོ་གང་ཙམ་གྱི་ཚད་ཀྱི་ཤུལ་ཞེས་བགྱི་བར་དེ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་ནི་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་བལྟ་བར་བགྱི་ལགས་སོ། །དེའི་གཡས་གཡོན་ན་ཁྲུ་འབུམ་ཙམ་མཆིས་པའི་གཡང་ས་ཆེན་པོ་ཞེས་བགྱི་བ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ནི་ཉན་ཐོས་དང་། རང་སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་ས་རྣམས་བལྟ་བར་བགྱི་ལགས་སོ། །གཡས་གཡོན་ཀྱི་གཡང་ས་དེ་དག་རྩིག་པ་དང་སྤང་ལེབ་ཀྱིས་བཀུམ་སྟེ་ཞེས་བགྱི་བ་དེ་ཇི་ལྟ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་ནི་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱི་ཕ་རོལ་དུ་ཕྱིན་པ་དང་། ཐབས་ལ་མཁས་པ་བལྟ་བར་བགྱི་ལགས་སོ། །རྐང་ལག་བཞིས་འཕྱེ་ཞིང་ཤུལ་དེ་ལས་ཡང་དག་པར་འདའ་བར་བགྱིད་ལ་ཞེས་བགྱི་བ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ནི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་བསྡུ་བའི་དངོས་པོ་བཞིས་སེམས་ཅན་དཔག་ཏུ་མ་མཆིས་པ་རྣམས་སྡུད་ཅིང་ཡང་དག་པར་འདའ་བར་བགྱིད་པ་དག་ལྟ་བར་བགྱི་ལགས་སོ། The wise and peaceful tamer, acting for the benefit of all sentient beings, seeking happiness, accomplishment and bliss, practicing medicine, one endowed with great compassion appeared, and he said to that great village monastery: "Friends, I am your complete protector. Starting from this great village monastery, not too long from now, there will be a great, prosperous, happy, bountiful, and delightful city. Those who enter there will become without aging and without death, and in order to completely liberate countless sentient beings from birth, aging, sickness, and death, they will also teach the Dharma, so sentient beings with wisdom, please come! Let us go to that great city." When he made a sound and informed them with language, those sentient beings who were inclined to inferiority and had the thought of renunciation said: "Please also teach and instruct us not to move from here, and while we are staying here, please let the qualities that that city possesses also happen to us." Those sentient beings who were inclined to greatness said: "We will go to that city just like you." Those sentient beings with little merit, even after hearing that sound, would not believe it, nor would they follow that person with the nature of wisdom. After that, that person with the nature of wisdom returned again from that great village monastery, He saw that footprint. He saw that footprint, which was about a span high, very narrow and terrifying. He also saw the huge cliffs of millions of cubits on the left and right sides of that footprint. For the benefit of countless beings, and to completely eliminate birth, aging, sickness, and death, Dharma will also be taught. Bhikshus, the Bhagavan, called the Great Wilderness Monastery, that is a figurative term for the wilderness of samsara. The enclosure called equal to the peak of existence, that is a figurative term for the existence of ignorance and craving. It is said that hundreds of thousands of creatures enter that Great Wilderness Monastery, that is a figurative term for all ordinary people. It is said that the Great Wilderness Monastery has only one gate, just like that, one should see the path of a single going. Those called beings with the nature of wisdom, just like that, one should see the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Those who are inclined towards inferior beings, have the mind of renunciation, do not move from that place, and also seek the qualities of the city, just like that, one should see all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Those who are inclined towards vast beings, saying these words: We are going to that city just like you, those who go, just like that, one should see the other Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Those beings with little merit, who do not believe even after hearing that sound, that is a figurative term for other non-Buddhist practitioners and wanderers. It is said to emerge again from that Great Wilderness Monastery, just like that, one should see the effort initiated with a mind determined to strive for omniscience. What is called a footprint the size of a cubit, just like that, one should see the Dharmadhatu. What is called a great cliff of a hundred thousand kotis of cubits to the left and right of that footprint, just like that, one should see the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas.

One should observe all places. Just as observing the Prajñāpāramitā and skillful means, so too, the cliffs on the left and right are covered with walls and turf. Just as a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva gathers immeasurable beings with the four means of gathering and completely crosses over from that place by climbing with four limbs. Likewise, one should also observe the sons of the gods of Mara and the retinue of Mara. Similarly, one should also observe those beings who are attached to evil, completely defiled by afflictions, and who engage in all kinds of evil deeds, who mock and revile those Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, the phrase "not looking again" is the ultimate word of the Perfection of Patience and the generation of the mind with superior intention. The phrase "not looking to the left or right" is the ultimate word of not delighting in the grounds of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and of the wisdom of omniscience. The phrase "great city" is the ultimate word for the city of omniscience itself. The phrase "as it appears, so it is seen, that city," is the ultimate word of the Tathāgata, free from all fear and devoid of all timidity, and similarly, the Bodhisattva sees the qualities of the Buddha, and the conduct of the Buddha, and the निश्चित (梵文天城体，niścita，certain) contemplation of wisdom, and the ultimate word of diligently learning the Perfection of Wisdom and skillful means. The phrase "as it is seen, so it is, all its fears and terrors exist," is the ultimate word that all beings exist in fear, free from doubt. If one enters that city, there will be no aging, death, or disease, and one will accomplish the benefit of immeasurable beings, and one will completely be free from birth, aging, disease, and death.
