Experience suffering. This body is not as hard as a diamond. Do not commit sins for the sake of the body. Realizing death, quickly perform virtuous deeds. Likewise, generate faith in the Buddha's teachings. With food, drink, ointment, and clothing, serve this body for as long as possible. Even if you make it strong, it will eventually decay. Why make futile efforts for this? Even in hundreds of eons, it is extremely difficult to obtain. The appearance of the Buddha, which is now easily obtained, likewise, generate faith in the Buddha's teachings. Do not go to the extremely frightening evil realms. Even if someone lives for a million years, it is निश्चित(梵文天城体:निश्चित,梵文罗马拟音:niścita,Literal meaning: certain)should definitely abandon attachment. Who can live to be a hundred years old? Therefore, there is no need to say that happiness cannot be obtained. Some unrestrained people say this: Having obtained the extremely difficult to obtain human body, in youth one should enjoy pleasures, seek wealth, and experience happiness. Where is happiness in seeking wealth? In order to protect wealth, one will also experience suffering. Therefore, the wise should completely abandon attachment and be content with meager things. Enjoyments are like illusions, like dreams. These are things that entice children. Arising in an instant, decaying in an instant. Which wise person would accumulate enjoyments? Like illusions, like watching dances. Like the various cities of the Gandharvas, those enjoyments also entice children in this way. Thus seeking evil paths, children wander. Seeking enjoyments with a hundred sufferings, after causing incomparable harm to the body, they are taken away by the power of the king. For those, which wise person would generate joy? Not being controlled by children and wives, the king takes away wealth that comes from wrongdoing. Recognizing these wrongdoings, which wise person would accumulate wealth in the home? Always greedy, seeking enjoyments, that person neither respects parents nor is kind to children and wives, those people are always immersed in greed. Fearing that their enjoyments will decrease, greedy people also cannot obtain virtuous deeds. Seeking wealth with deception and falsehood, the wise do not trust greedy people. Greedy and cunning beings

Deception itself. With words, it pleases the minds of others. Even with trust, one should not trust it. Yet, it pretends to cherish like a son. Greedy beings roam the world, Claiming expertise in medicine and treatises, Like a prostitute, it entices with words, But inwardly, it is uneasy and extremely harsh. Greedy ones never have friends, Without relatives, nor intimate companions. Yet, they rely on them for wealth. Wise ones do not trust the greedy. Greedy ones do whatever it takes for enjoyment, Constantly generating extreme unpleasantness in the mind. Therefore, the wise should truly understand, And be content with whatever adversity comes. Gold, pearls, gems, and coral, Arise from virtuous deeds, but are more fleeting than bubbles. Not realizing their illusory nature, They fight and quarrel for them. Wherever the name Maitreya appears, When the Tathagata appears, This earth will be filled with gold. Then, from where does it come? The five qualities of desire arise, Having a false nature, deluding and bewildering. For example, in the summer sun at noon, A mirage appears as water, so are desires. After one kalpa has passed, this world, Will become of the nature of emptiness, appearing like an empty city. Mount Sumeru will also burn and be completely destroyed. From where do they come, and where do they go? Springs, lakes, ponds, and oceans, They will disappear, dry up, and appear. Likewise, accumulating desires is meaningless, Which wise person would rejoice in that? Those wise ones who possess the power of intellect, Always recognize the faults of household life. If someone has tasted its flavor, Why do they not abandon household life? Seeking enjoyment through the work of a procuress, Nourishing sons and wives. When extreme suffering comes, Sons and wives will not become protectors. Just as one takes wages for doing various works, Sons and wives will also abandon you. One will come to experience suffering alone, At that time, they will not share your suffering. For the sake of happiness, one takes them, But now suffers sorrow because of them.
