It is the supreme other shore that transcends concentration. Shariputra, do you wish to hear a small simile of the Tathagata's discipline and immeasurable concentration? He replied: World Honored One, if the World Honored One were to tell the monks a simile about the Tathagata's discipline and the transcendence of concentration, I would hold it as I heard it from the World Honored One. World Honored One, now is the time, Sugata, now is the time. The World Honored One said: Shariputra, what do you think? Which is more, the realm of sentient beings or the realm of earth? He replied: As I understand the meaning of what the World Honored One said, World Honored One, the realm of sentient beings is extremely vast, but not the realm of earth. He said: That is so. Shariputra, that is so. Shariputra, the realm of sentient beings is extremely vast, but not the realm of earth. Shariputra, in the three thousand great thousand worlds, all sentient beings born from eggs, born from wombs, born from moisture, born by transformation, with form, without form, with perception, without perception, neither with nor without perception, all those who are designated as sentient beings, all of them having been fully examined, in an instant, without hesitation, may they obtain a human body. Shariputra, all those sentient beings who have become human, in an instant, in a moment, without hesitation, may they manifest the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, having been fully examined. Each Tathagata manifests as many Tathagatas as there are, and each Tathagata manifests a thousand heads, Each head manifests a thousand faces, and each face manifests a thousand tongues. All those Tathagatas possess the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges of the Tathagata, and the Buddha's fearlessness, which is without attachment and without obstruction. Shariputra, such are the Tathagatas.

Thus, (someone) begins (to speak) about one suchness's discipline paramita. Even if praised for hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas, the aggregate of discipline of the thus-gone one is like that. Shariputra, the aggregate of discipline of the thus-gone one is inexhaustible. The wisdom and unsurpassed eloquence of those thus-gone ones are also inexhaustible. All those thus-gone ones will completely enter nirvana in the meantime. What is the reason for that? For example, the aggregate of discipline of the thus-gone one and the wisdom and unsurpassed eloquence of those thus-gone ones, these two are immeasurable, countless, inconceivable, equal to and the same as space. Shariputra, let alone the sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand world realms, Shariputra, how many sentient beings are there in the world realms of the eastern direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River? Similarly, the southern, western, northern, lower, and upper directions, and similarly, the intermediate directions, all the sentient beings in the world realms of the ten directions, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, all those sentient beings, from the moment they obtain a human body in an instant, a moment, a short time, until they attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, and become fully enlightened, should be elaborated as before. For example, the aggregate of discipline of the thus-gone one and the wisdom and unsurpassed eloquence of those Buddha Bhagavats, these two are immeasurable, countless, inconceivable, equal to and the same as space. Therefore, Shariputra, the Thus-Gone One is the supreme shore-goer of the discipline paramita. Shariputra, do you want to hear just an example of the Thus-Gone One's samadhi paramita? He replied: Yes. Thus, the monks, having heard from the Bhagavan, will hold it as such. Bhagavan, this is the time, Sugata, this is the time. The Bhagavan said: Shariputra, that time will come, when seven suns appear in the world, the three thousand

This great chiliocosm will burn, burn universally, spread and burn universally, and will become one burning. Shariputra, in whatever place of that world which has become one burning, the Tathagata walks, stands, dwells, or sleeps, that place will possess ten wonderful and marvelous qualities. What are the ten? That place will become as level as the palm of the hand. Shariputra, that place will possess this first wonderful and marvelous quality. Furthermore, Shariputra, the world burns, burns universally, spreads and burns universally, becoming one burning. In whatever place the Tathagata walks, stands, dwells, or sleeps, that place will become a form without gravel and pebbles, and elevated. Shariputra, that place will possess this second wonderful and marvelous quality. Furthermore, Shariputra, the world burns, burns universally, spreads and burns universally, becoming one burning and burning. In whatever place the Tathagata walks, stands, dwells, or sleeps, that place will become spacious and level for the Tathagata to fully enjoy. Shariputra, that place will possess this third wonderful and marvelous quality. Furthermore, Shariputra, the world burns, burns universally, spreads and burns universally, becoming one burning and burning. In whatever place the Tathagata walks, stands, dwells, or sleeps, there will grow green grass, coiled grass, soft grass, grass coiled to the right, comfortable to the touch like Kacijalandika, and with a very fragrant smell. Shariputra, that place will possess this fourth wonderful and marvelous quality. Furthermore, Shariputra, the world burns, burns universally, spreads and burns universally, becoming one burning and burning. In whatever place the Tathagata walks, stands, dwells, or sleeps, there will arise water with eight qualities: cold, light, soft, clear, without turbidity, very clear, desirable to drink, and not causing internal discomfort even when drunk in large quantities.
