To widely proclaim this, at that time these verses were spoken: From grasping, fear arises; therefore, one will go to evil destinies. Having seen this place full of fear, the wise do not grasp. The path that should be cultivated, one should observe with wisdom. Because it is seen with wisdom, it will not change into something else. All sources are empty; they are without essence, moving and accumulating. Beings are deceived by craving; one should not be attached to that. I have known that all dharmas are empty; I have known that all dharmas are without essence. Having attained bliss, one does not grieve; I have attained unwavering bliss. Whoever knows all dharmas in this way, as emptiness, Will be liberated from all sufferings; in that there is no dispute. This desire is the root of all grasping, and also the rebirth of all clinging. Grasping is said to arise from existence; from grasping, existence will arise. From existence, the complete birth arises; that will be in accordance with actions. Having been born, one is afflicted by disease, old age, and death, and other great sufferings that are undesirable. If there is no desire, there is no grasping; if there is no grasping, there will be no existence. That which has passed beyond the manifestation of existence will not be subject to birth, old age, sickness, and death. Therefore, all of you, having gathered together, completely abandon grasping! Abandon attachment to sons and wives, and quickly take up this conduct of a monk! Do not desire the benefit of knowledge or gain; be content with just a little of what is needed. With a humble mind like that of an outcast, approach the villages of others. Do not be arrogant, saying, "I have discipline," and do not despise others, saying, "This one has bad discipline." Whoever despises others merely because of discipline, because of arrogance, that one is called a violator of discipline. Just as deer that have grown fat are seized and killed at that very moment, Likewise, one who is seized by the snare of Mara is destroyed by that very arrogance. Those who have a mind of contempt cause themselves to decline by despising others. Therefore, if one should not despise even those who have violated discipline, what need is there to mention those who have discipline and practice celibacy? Learning after the determination of the right path.

Ah! Seeking this peaceful liberation, without regard for body and life, one should constantly reside in secluded monasteries. Abandon harmful roots, namely greedy words, and worldly secret words, strive to generate joy in the profound Dharma that possesses emptiness. The twelve internal and external sources are said to be the root of the mind. All of these arise from the cause of karma, and karma is also established by long-term thought. Relying on the two, eye and form, from various conditions, consciousness arises. Due to the incompleteness of aggregation, it vanishes, just as without wood, fire cannot burn. Likewise, all these dharmas are completely produced, they arise from mutual aggregation. The agent is not visible, actions appear like illusions. Therefore, know that all internal and external dharmas are emptiness, like illusions. Ignorant children wrongly cling, discriminating "I" and "mine." The eye does not exist at all internally, and sentient beings are not seen anywhere externally. The eye is without self, without agent, without life. Know that all dharmas are like that. The eye does not think, nor does it desire liberation. Similarly, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind, and form are also without agent. See all dharmas as being the same as that. Just as from the shore of the ocean, many great bubbles arise. If one with discerning eyes properly examines them, the bubbles are fragile and without essence. Likewise, whoever knows the nature of the five aggregates to be fragile like bubbles, he will be liberated from all suffering, namely the suffering of birth, old age, and sorrow. Whoever goes forth in my teaching and knows all dharmas to be like illusions, he will eat the fruit of alms from the land, he will make offerings to the Buddhas of the ten directions. Then, about five hundred householders dwelling in that place, arose in them the stainless, immaculate, pure Dharma eye regarding the dharmas. For example, a clean cloth, free from blackness, if placed in dye, quickly absorbs the color. Likewise, about five hundred householders dwelling in that place, arose in them the stainless Dharma eye regarding the dharmas.
