Venerable Ananda, thereafter, that monk Dharma-utpatti rose from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and with joined palms bowed towards the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened, the King of the World, and at that time, he openly praised with these verses: Light is immeasurable, wisdom is boundless and equal, the light of others does not reveal anything, the light of the sun, moon, and jewels shines brightly in all the world. The form of sentient beings' hearts is boundless, likewise the Buddha's speech is a boundless sound, morality, concentration, wisdom, and diligence, like you, there is no other in this world. Having attained the profound and vast Dharma, the heart of the supreme Buddha is like an ocean, yet he is not satisfied with showing it, having abandoned strife and hatred, he ferries beings to the other shore. Just as the light of the supreme Buddha is boundless, the glory of the king of men shines brightly in all directions, likewise may I also become the king of the Dharma, may I be well liberated from birth, old age, and death. Generosity, discipline, morality, patience, diligence, meditation, concentration, and supreme wisdom, these vows I have truly taken, to protect all sentient beings, may I become a Buddha. Seeking the unsurpassed supreme Bodhi, countless hundreds of thousands of deeds of the Buddhas, as infinite as the sands of the Ganges, may I make offerings to all those protectors. Worlds equal to the dust of the Ganges, more infinite than those lands, in all of them emitting light, may I exert the power of such diligence. I shall adorn the vast and supreme pure land, in this conditioned Dharma, the realm of unequaled Nirvana is bliss, and because it is also without, it is extremely pure, coming from the ten directions.
