In this way of counting, one can count and calculate the passing of the names of the ten directions' world realms from one to another. Just as one can show the passing of the names of the world realms from one to another, so too can one show the passing of the names of the ten directions' kalpas from one to another, and the names of the Buddhas from one to another, and the names of the Dharma from one to another, and the names of sentient beings from one to another, and the names of actions from one to another; all of these are included. This way of counting of the Bodhisattvas applies to all the names in the ten directions that can be shown to pass from one to another. The Bodhisattvas, with this way of counting, can count and calculate all the names in the ten directions that pass from one to another. Thus, son of good family, what I know is only the light of wisdom of the Bodhisattva, and the manifestation of skillfulness for knowing all things. How can I comprehend the Bodhisattva's entering into the number of all beings, entering into the number of all dharmas, entering into the number of the three times, entering into the number of all sentient beings, entering into the number of all aggregates of dharmas, entering into the number of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and the conduct of those who control the wheel of names of all dharmas, or speak of their qualities, or state their sphere of activity, or declare their place, or praise their power, or stabilize their thoughts, or fully declare their assembly, or explain their aspirations, or fully show their conduct, or manifestly declare the completely pure perfections, or completely purify their true accomplishment, or truly show them, or state the distinctions of samadhi, or comprehend the light of wisdom? Son of good family, in this southern region, there is a city called Sea Steadfast. There lives a distinguished laywoman named Uttara. Go to her and ask how a Bodhisattva should train in the conduct of a Bodhisattva, and how diligently

Please ask what to do. Then, the merchant's son Norzang, having heard the words of the virtuous friend, his hairs stood on end, and a great force of joy arose. His mind was filled with great joy, and he thought of the wondrous, having obtained an extremely rare jewel, thinking of benefiting many sentient beings, arising from the mind, passing from one Buddha's emanation to another, thereby controlling beings. Relying on the wisdom of the pure mandala of Dharma, diligently explaining the knowledge that arises from following all and distinguishing, possessing the Buddha-land that is unmixed with the realm of the three times, possessing the mind that arises from the inexhaustible ocean of merit, controlling the great light of wisdom, by completely closing the door that gathers the home of the three realms. Therefore, the powerful one of the child's freedom prostrated with his head to the two feet of the powerful one of the child's freedom, circumambulated the powerful one of the child's freedom hundreds and thousands of times, looked again and again, and then departed from the presence of the powerful one of the child's freedom. Then, the merchant's son Norzang, like holding the rain of the clouds of the virtuous friend's teachings, like a great lake that cannot be satisfied by the rain of great clouds, like the sprout of freedom emerging and growing from the ground where the virtuous friend's sun of wisdom light has fully ripened virtue, like the virtuous friend's full and growing moon using the net of the light of teachings to completely satisfy the body and mind, like a herd of deer scorched by the spring sun desiring to drink clear and cool snow water, desiring to drink the water of the virtuous friend's teachings, like a lotus lake filled with lotuses blooming with many bees circling and hovering, the virtuous friend's teachings cause the lotus of the mind, Bundarika, to bloom, like a jewel island filled with various jewels, the virtuous friend's teachings, the light of increasing jewels, makes the mind very bright, like the great Jambudvipa tree with its great flowers and abundant fruits, the virtuous friend's teachings are full of merit and wisdom.

Having become an assembly for hearing the instructions of the virtuous friend, possessing completeness and abundance. Like a great cloud in the sky arising from the pure play of the great Naga king, the longing to become an assembly for hearing the instructions of the virtuous friend is extremely intense. Like the various ornaments adorning the world of the Thirty-three, it has become an ornament of various stainless dharmas arising from the instructions of the virtuous friend. Like Indra, the lord of gods and non-gods, surrounded by the assembly of the Thirty-three, it is surrounded by a multitude of stainless qualities arising from the instructions of the virtuous friend, unsuppressed and able to suppress others. Eventually, he arrived at the city called Sea Steadfast. While searching everywhere for the excellent laywoman, many people pointed her out to him, saying, "Son of good family, the excellent laywoman resides in her own home in the center of the city." Then, the merchant's son, Norsang, went to the place where the excellent laywoman was, and stood at the door with his palms joined. He saw that the excellent laywoman's house was very large and spacious, surrounded by a precious fence, with extremely beautiful doors opening in the four directions, adorned with immeasurable and countless jewels, manifested by the ripening of merit. He went into that house, and looking around, he saw that the excellent laywoman was very young, just entering adolescence, with a prominent and beautiful form, pleasing to behold, with a pure complexion, possessing a very flourishing priyava, her hair arranged in a bun, without ornaments on her body, wearing white clothes and a skirt, sitting on a precious throne. Except for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, there was no being in that house who could overpower her body, mind, power, majesty, or complexion, whether god or human. Whichever being happened to see the excellent laywoman, all of them regarded the excellent laywoman as a teacher. He saw her sitting on a precious throne.
