Who will accomplish it? It is not to fully comprehend everything. Among the ten perfections, the perfection of generosity is the most excellent, but it is not that the remaining perfections are not properly practiced to the best of one's ability. Just as one makes offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and strives to fully ripen sentient beings, and properly takes and abides by these teachings of purifying the lands, just so, dedicating all the roots of virtue to omniscience, those will become even more excellent, exceedingly purified, completely purified, and workable. O sons of the Victorious Ones! For example, just as a skilled blacksmith smelts gold ore, the more it is smelted, the more it becomes exceedingly purified, completely purified, and workable as desired. O sons of the Victorious Ones! Similarly, just as Bodhisattvas make offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and strive to fully ripen sentient beings, and properly take and abide by such aspects of the teachings of purifying the lands, just so, dedicating all the roots of virtue to omniscience, those will become exceedingly purified, completely purified, and workable as desired. O sons of the Victorious Ones! Furthermore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abiding on the first ground should seek and inquire from the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and spiritual friends about the aspects of the first Bodhisattva ground itself, what is to be attained, and the fruit that corresponds to the cause. One should never be satisfied in order to fully accomplish the limbs of the ground. When he abides on this first Bodhisattva ground, he should also seek and inquire from the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and spiritual friends about the aspects of the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth Bodhisattva grounds, what is to be attained, and the fruit that corresponds to the cause. One should never be satisfied in order to fully accomplish the limbs of the ground. He should be skilled in the aspects that are in harmony and disharmony with the ground.

One should be skilled in the accomplishment and destruction of the earth. One should be skilled in the characteristics of the earth and the corresponding fruit. One should be skilled in obtaining the earth and contemplating it properly. One should be skilled in completely purifying the characteristics of the earth. One should be skilled in ascending from earth to earth. One should be skilled in properly abiding on earth and earth. One should be skilled in transferring from earth to another place of earth. One should be skilled in the wisdom of the distinction of completely purifying from earth to earth. One should be skilled in the wisdom of non-retrogression after obtaining earth from earth. One should be skilled in suppressing the Tathagata's earth by completely purifying the Bodhisattva's earth. O sons of the Victorious One! Thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, skilled in the manifestation of the characteristics of the earth, without moving upward from the first earth, can suppress and obtain the ten earths without any hindrance. Walking without hindrance, and with the light of the wisdom of the earth, one can also excellently obtain the light of the Buddha's wisdom. O sons of the Victorious One! For example, a skilled great captain, with the intention of completely guiding fellow travelers, in order to reach the place of a great city, desires from the beginning to understand the road and the merits of the road, and the faults of deviating from the road, and the differences of the resting places in the middle of the road, and the faults that would be caused by errors in the resting places in the middle of the road, and what should and should not be done on the road, and preparing provisions, completely seeking and universally inquiring. From the initial resting place of the road, without surpassing, until reaching the city, one is extremely skilled. Without surpassing from that resting place of the road, knowing from that very place, with extremely prudent wisdom and a perfect great collection of provisions, one enables many fellow travelers to reach that great city without any harm, so that the dangers of desolation and solitude do not harm oneself and the fellow travelers. O sons of the Victorious One! Similarly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, like a skilled captain, when abiding on the first Bodhisattva earth, is skilled in the aspects that are compatible and incompatible with the earth, skilled in the accomplishment and destruction of the earth, skilled in the characteristics of the earth and the corresponding fruit, skilled in obtaining the earth, and contemplating it properly, skilled in completely purifying the limbs of the earth, skilled in ascending from earth to earth.
