What is the reason for this? Because this mandala arises in order to completely purify all beings without obscuration. It is not focused on just one being, nor is it a complete dedication of the roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment of the bodhisattvas. For example, in order to completely purify a pure land, focusing only on one pure land, the bodhisattvas do not take great delight in the mind of enlightenment. For example, in order to completely focus on the view of the Buddha, focusing only on one Buddha, the bodhisattvas do not generate faith. For example, in order to subsequently realize one wisdom, focusing on one wisdom, the bodhisattvas do not generate aspirations, but rather, in this way, in order to completely protect all beings, they completely dedicate the roots of virtue. In order to completely purify all pure lands, they completely dedicate the roots of virtue. In order to make offerings and serve all the Buddhas, focusing on seeing all the Buddhas, the bodhisattvas generate faith. In order to subsequently realize the wisdom of the Dharma of all the Buddhas, the bodhisattva mahasattvas, those who completely dedicate the roots of virtue to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, generate aspirations. Moreover, the minds of the bodhisattva mahasattvas, who focus on the power of the Buddha, who are broad-minded, whose thoughts are not confused, who possess the jewel-like mind that is extremely rare in all kalpas, are like this: because they are equal to all the Buddhas, they are extremely joyful. Thus, the bodhisattva mahasattvas, having correctly seen those roots of virtue, dedicate them with pure, great faith and great compassion, and completely dedicate those roots of virtue to all beings, and it is not just a matter of words, but they completely dedicate them from the depths of their hearts. Moreover, they completely dedicate them with a mind of joy, a mind of great joy, a mind of faith, a mind of devotion, a gentle mind, a loving mind, a close mind, a compassionate mind, and a mind of benefiting. Moreover, they completely dedicate in this way.

May this root of virtue of mine purify the conduct of all sentient beings. May the births be completely purified. May the great essence of merit be completely perfected. May it be unconquerable. May it be inexhaustible. May it become an invincible mind. May the memory be without loss. May the realization be certain. May the wisdom be immeasurable. May all the qualities of body, speech, and mind be completely perfected. May this root of virtue cause all those sentient beings to please all the Buddhas. Having pleased them, may they never become angry. May they also obtain unwavering faith in those Buddhas, the Bhagavat. May they obtain the Dharma taught by the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas. Having heard it, may they be without doubt or hesitation. May they truly grasp it and diligently practice it. May they also obtain the joy of sentient beings. May the faultless actions of the body be perfectly accomplished. May I diligently cultivate great roots of virtue. May I be completely free from extreme poverty. May I completely obtain the seven treasures. May I also learn to follow all the Buddhas. May all sentient beings obtain the happiness and service that all Buddhas possess. May the state of Buddhahood be perfectly attained, becoming an immeasurable state. May the aggregates of suffering and obscuring actions of all those sentient beings...

arising from obscurations. Because of being obscured by those obscuring actions, not seeing the Buddha, not hearing the Dharma, not knowing the Sangha, with the aggregates of suffering accumulated by various obscuring actions, I will take upon myself with this body the birth places of sentient beings in hell, and the places of evil destinies, in those places. All those sentient beings, with this root of virtue, having extracted them from there, I will take upon myself their suffering and afflictions. I will rejoice, I will not turn back, I will not flee from it, I will not be afraid, I will not be terrified, I will not retreat, I will not be discouraged, I will not be weary. Why is that? Because I have made the aspiration to liberate all sentient beings, therefore I must bear the burden of all sentient beings. Thus I will completely liberate all sentient beings. Thus I will liberate all sentient beings. From the wilderness of birth, the wilderness of aging and sickness, the wilderness of death, the wilderness of death and rebirth, the wilderness of all afflictions, the wilderness of all unfree states, the wilderness of all samsara, the wilderness of all dense views, the wilderness empty of all virtuous dharmas, the wilderness arising from ignorance, from all those wildernesses, I will liberate sentient beings entangled in the net of existence, obscured by the obscuration of ignorance, possessing the craving for existence, having become the end of attachment, surrounded by the wooden fence of suffering, relying on the deeds of demons, not clever, merit cut off, having become doubt, always possessing two minds, seeing unhappiness, not skilled in arising, like leaves surrounded by chaff, wandering and drifting, all those sentient beings I will completely liberate. Thus, the Bodhisattva, with a mind fully developed with great compassion, seeing the realm of sentient beings sinking in the mire of samsara, generates great compassion for those sentient beings, generates a mind of great benefit, rejoices in doing great deeds for sentient beings, completely dedicates the root of virtue to greatly liberate many sentient beings, enters into the great complete dedication, past and future.
