also do not abandon, and also do not take the Buddhas' teachings, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? World-Honored One, like this, cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom is because one does not dwell on any dharma, since one does not focus on abandoning or taking any dharma. World-Honored One, that which does not go towards the faults of samsara, nor towards the merits of nirvana, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? World-Honored One, like this, if even samsara itself is not seen, then what need is there to mention the faults of samsara? If even nirvana itself is not focused on, then what need is there to mention the merits of nirvana? World-Honored One, that which has no taking, holding, or abandoning of any dharma, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, that which does not focus on decrease or increase in any dharma, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? World-Honored One, because there is no birth, there is no decrease or increase. World-Honored One, cultivating in that way is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, that which does not make any dharma be born or cease, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, that which does not make any dharma decrease or increase, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, cultivating in that way is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, furthermore, one does not desire the inconceivable dharmas, nor does one desire the insignificant ones. World-Honored One, that which has no desire for anything, nor anything with which to desire, that is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, cultivating in that way is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom is like this: one does not dwell on thinking that these dharmas are superior, these dharmas are inferior, nor does one focus on those dharmas that become superior and inferior. Like this, a son of good family who is diligent in the yoga of cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom does not focus on all dharmas. World-Honored One, the Perfection of

To meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom is not to think of any dharma as superior or inferior. Why is that? Because, Blessed One, for that which is unborn, there is nothing that can be called superior or inferior. In Suchness, the Limit of Reality, and among all dharmas, there is also no superior or inferior. Blessed One, to meditate in this way is to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom. After this was asked, the Blessed One said to youthful Manjushri: Manjushri, are not the dharmas of the Buddhas superior? Manjushri replied: Blessed One, because they are ungraspable, the dharmas of the Buddhas are superior. Blessed One, is it that the Tathagata has manifestly awakened to the emptiness of all dharmas? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, it is just so. The Tathagata has manifestly awakened to the emptiness of all dharmas. Manjushri asked: Blessed One, is there anything that can be called superior or inferior in emptiness itself? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, well done, well done! Manjushri, it is just so, as you have said. Manjushri, are not the dharmas of the Buddhas unsurpassed? Manjushri replied: It is just so, the dharmas of the Buddhas are unsurpassed. Why is that? Blessed One, because in these, there is not even the slightest dharma that exists or is seen, therefore the dharmas of the Buddhas are unsurpassed. Blessed One, furthermore, one who neither accomplishes the dharmas of the Buddhas, nor abandons the dharmas of ordinary beings, and neither tames nor grasps the dharmas of the Buddhas, that is to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom. Blessed One, furthermore, one who does not think about any dharma and does not discriminate, that is to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom. The Blessed One said: Manjushri, do you not think about the dharmas of the Buddhas? Manjushri replied: Blessed One, if I were to see the dharmas of the Buddhas as fully accomplished, then I would be thinking about the dharmas of the Buddhas. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom

To meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom, these are the dharmas of ordinary beings. These are the dharmas of the Hearers. These are the dharmas of the Solitary Buddhas. These are the dharmas of the Perfectly and Completely Awakened Buddhas, without abiding with any conceptualization on any dharma. Why is that? World-Honored One, a son of good family who strives in the yoga of meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom does not even perceive that dharma itself. How could he say that those dharmas are the dharmas of ordinary beings, or the dharmas of learners, or the dharmas of non-learners, or the dharmas of Solitary Buddhas, or the dharmas of Perfectly and Completely Awakened Buddhas? Because that is the nature of dharma that transcends all limits, so that dharma is not perceived and is not truly seen. World-Honored One, to meditate in that way is to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, a son of good family who strives in the yoga of meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom does not even think, 'This is the desire realm, this is the form realm, this is the formless realm,' up to 'This is the sphere of cessation.' Why is that? World-Honored One, because he does not see any dharma that can be considered cessation. World-Honored One, to meditate in that way should be known as meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, furthermore, not to do anything that benefits or harms any dharma is to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom. World-Honored One, meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is neither giving up the dharmas of the Buddhas nor cutting off the dharmas of ordinary beings. World-Honored One, not preventing the dharmas of ordinary beings and not attaining the dharmas of the Buddhas is to meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom. After he spoke thus, the World-Honored One said to Manjushri, who had become a youth, 'Manjushri, it is good, good that you have taught such a profound dharma as this! Manjushri, you, for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas and the Hearer Vehicle's conceited ones...'
