What is it that completely dedicates the mind that leads to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment? When the two minds do not meet, and the mind cannot dedicate itself by its own nature, how can the mind dedicate the mind? Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, said to the venerable Subhuti: "Holy Subhuti, it is not right for those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have newly entered the Great Vehicle to be frightened, terrified, and filled with terror upon hearing this teaching. Holy Subhuti, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva dedicate the meritorious act of rejoicing to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment? How can one fully grasp the meritorious act of rejoicing and dedicate the mind of rejoicing? How can the mind of rejoicing be well grasped and well dedicated?" Then, the venerable Subhuti, beginning with the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Maitreya, and based on the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Maitreya, said to the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Maitreya: "Maitreya, in this case, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should, in the ten directions of the world, in each of the immeasurable and countless three-thousand great-thousand world realms, rejoice in the merit of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed away, whose path has been cut off, whose entry has been cut off, whose proliferation and leading to existence have been cut off, whose tears have been exhausted, whose thorns have been destroyed, whose burden has been completely abandoned, who have attained their own benefit, whose connection to existence has been completely exhausted, who have been completely liberated by perfect knowledge, who have reached the other shore of the power of all minds, the immeasurable and countless Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed into complete nirvana, from the time they first generated the mind until they attained unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and without remainder of the aggregates.

What is the intention to benefit, what is great love, what is great compassion, and what are the immeasurable and countless qualities of the Buddhas? What Dharma was taught by those Buddhas, the Bhagavat? And who studied, especially believed in, and abided in that Dharma, what are their roots of virtue? Which Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas were prophesied by those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? What are their roots of virtue? And what are the roots of virtue arising from the giving of those individuals of the Hearer Vehicle, the roots of virtue arising from morality, the roots of virtue arising from meditation, and the undefiled roots of virtue of those who are still learning, and the undefiled roots of virtue of those who are no longer learning? Creating the root of virtue. All those roots of virtue, whatever they are, all those are gathered together, summed up, measured, and done without omission. After rejoicing in all that should be rejoiced in, if that object of meritorious action endowed with rejoicing is dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, how will the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who dedicates not have inverted perception, not have inverted mind, not have inverted view? Having spoken thus, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Maitreya said this to the venerable Subhuti: Noble Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva dedicates with a mind, and that mind is not perceived as a mind, then the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva has dedicated the object of meritorious action endowed with rejoicing to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. How is it that not knowing correctly that mind, that mind is this? Thus, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will not have inverted perception, not have inverted mind, not have inverted view. If dedicating with a mind, correctly knowing that mind, that mind is this, and perceiving it as a mind, then the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will have inverted perception, inverted mind, and inverted view. Furthermore, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva dedicates a mind, knowing correctly in this way and thinking in this way about that mind: when thinking about that mind, it is exhausted as exhaustion, thus also knowing it is exhausted, and it is cessation, separation, and transformation, knowing it in this way, whatever is exhausted cannot be dedicated, and the nature of that mind with which one dedicates is also like that. The nature of those dharmas with which one dedicates is also like that. The nature of those dharmas to which one dedicates is also like that. Even if one dedicates in that way,
