The great being is counted as irreversible. Similarly, apply it: the concept of the birthplace, the concept of desire, hatred, and ignorance, the concept of sixty-two types of views, the concept of generosity paramita, up to the concept of wisdom paramita, the concept of inner emptiness, up to the concept of the emptiness of the nature of non-things, the concept of mindfulness, and similarly, apply it: the concept of the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, the concept of the grounds of hearers and solitary Buddhas, up to the concept of all-knowingness, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who turns back from these is counted as irreversible. Why is that? Subhuti, thus, the irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva enters into all dharmas that are empty of their own nature without the fault of a Bodhisattva. He does not observe even the slightest dharma, and because he does not observe, he does not manifestly cling to any dharma. Because he does not manifestly cling, he does not generate any dharma. Therefore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has obtained forbearance of non-arising dharmas is shown to be irreversible. Subhuti, furthermore, the evil Mara comes to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva and disturbs his faith, and says this: "This all-knowingness is equal to space and is the nature of non-things, empty of its own nature. These dharmas are also equal to space and are the nature of non-things, empty of their own nature. For those dharmas that are equal to space and are the nature of non-things, empty of their own nature, who will manifestly awaken, with what will they manifestly awaken, and where will the dharma to be manifestly awakened be found? All these dharmas are equal to space and are the nature of non-things, empty of their own nature. For example, manifestly awakening to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment

Saying "You should become a Buddha" will make you afflicted and meaningless. Teaching in this way is the work of Mara. This is not what the perfectly complete Buddha taught. Sons of good family, abandon those thoughts! If someone says that those thoughts will harm you for a long time, cause you suffering, and cause you to fall into wrongdoing, then, sons or daughters of good family, having heard those words, should thoroughly examine them in this way: Whatever makes me separate from the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, these are the works of Mara. Like this, all dharmas are like the sky, they are of the nature of non-existence. Although they are empty by their own characteristics, sentient beings do not know, do not see, and do not understand them. Therefore, I should put on the armor that is like the sky, of the nature of non-existence, and empty by its own characteristics, and then become perfectly completely enlightened, and teach sentient beings the dharma of liberation. I will establish (sentient beings) in the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, and the state of Arhat. I will establish (sentient beings) in self-enlightenment. I will establish (sentient beings) in unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Thinking in this way, and from the time that Bodhisattva Mahasattvas generate the first thought of enlightenment, they should cultivate closeness (to virtuous friends), and when they hear these dharmas, they should make their minds firm. They should not let their minds waver, and they should not let their minds be stolen away. With a firm mind, an unwavering mind, and a mind that is not stolen away, if they practice the six perfections, they will enter the faultless path of the Bodhisattva. The Hundred Thousand Prajnaparamita, Chapter Thirty-Two. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Venerable Blessed One, do you call a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who is subject to regression, non-regressing? Or do you call a Bodhisattva who is not subject to regression, regressing? After he said this, the Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti: Good.

A Bodhisattva who regresses is called irreversible. A Bodhisattva who is irreversible is called regressive. The venerable Subhuti asked: "World Honored One, how does a regressive Bodhisattva become known as irreversible? How does an irreversible Bodhisattva become known as regressive?" The World Honored One replied: "Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who turns away from the ground of a Hearer or the ground of a Solitary Buddha, that, Subhuti, is an irreversible Bodhisattva, and is called irreversible. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who does not turn away from the ground of a Hearer or the ground of a Solitary Buddha, that, Subhuti, is a regressive Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and is called regressive. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who possesses those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics should be known as having the nature of irreversibility. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who possesses those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics cannot be turned away from unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment by the evil Mara. Subhuti, if an irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva desires, they enter into the first dhyana. Likewise, they enter into the second, third, and fourth dhyanas. Likewise, having practiced, if they desire, they enter into all the way up to the attainment of the cessation of perception and feeling. Likewise, they enter into the four mindfulnesses. They enter into the eightfold noble path. Likewise, they enter into emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. They manifest the five superknowledges. If they desire, they enter into the four dhyanas, and they are not born by the power of those dhyanas. Likewise, they enter into the four immeasurables and the four formless attainments, and they are not born by their power. Likewise, they enter into the four mindfulnesses, and also
