They also teach the Dharma to them. Similarly, they teach the Dharma to beings regarding the fruits of stream-entry, once-returning, non-returning, arhatship, self-awakening, and all-knowingness, which are unborn, unceasing, stainless, and undefiled. Subhuti, in this way, bodhisattva-mahasattvas are the leaders and guides of the world. Subhuti, how do bodhisattva-mahasattvas become the refuge of the world? Subhuti, here, when bodhisattva-mahasattvas practice the conduct of bodhisattvas, they gather beings with the four objects of gathering, namely, giving, kind speech, beneficial action, and consistency, and they teach those beings the Dharma that form is like the nature of space. Similarly, they teach them the Dharma that feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are like the nature of space. In this way, apply it as before, until they teach them the Dharma that all-knowingness is like the nature of space. Furthermore, they teach beings that future form is emptiness, it does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere. Similarly, they teach them that future feeling, perception, formation, and future consciousness are emptiness, it does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere. In this way, apply it similarly, until they teach them that future all-knowingness is emptiness, it does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere. Subhuti, in this way, bodhisattva-mahasattvas are the refuge of the world. Why is that? Because all dharmas are of the nature of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, and those bodhisattva-mahasattvas do not transcend these natures. Why is that? Subhuti, because in emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, no going or coming can be found.

Likewise. Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of non-manifestation, and those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not deviate from that nature either. Subhuti, for those that are unborn, unceasing, undefiled, and unpurified, there is no going or coming to be seen at all. Subhuti, connect it as before: all dharmas are of the nature of unborn, unceasing, undefiled, and unpurified, and those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not deviate from that nature either. Subhuti, for those that are unborn, unceasing, undefiled, and unpurified, there is no going or coming to be seen at all. Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of illusion, mirage, moon in water, dream, visual disturbance, echo, and emanation, and those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not deviate from that nature either. Why is that? Subhuti, because for illusion, mirage, moon in water, dream, visual disturbance, echo, and emanation, there is no going or coming to be seen at all. Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of without decrease and without increase, and those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not deviate from that nature either. Why is that? Subhuti, because for the nature of without decrease and without increase, there is no going or coming to be seen at all. Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of the future, and those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not deviate from that nature either. Why is that? Subhuti, because for the nature of the future, there is no going or coming to be seen at all. Subhuti, connect it thus: all dharmas are of the nature between not to be taken and not to be abandoned, and those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not deviate from that nature either. Why is that? Subhuti, because for that which is not to be taken and not to be abandoned, there is no going or coming to be seen at all.

If so, Subhuti, because there is no mixing, there is no going or coming of anything observable. Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of selflessness, and the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not transcend this nature. Why is that? Subhuti, because I do not observe any going or coming. Subhuti, connect it as before, all dharmas are of the nature of no sentient beings, no birth-givers, no life, no nurturers, no persons, no power-born, no power-children, no beggars, no all-beggars, no doers, no causers to do, no knowers, no seers, and the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not transcend this nature. Why is that? Subhuti, because I am completely non-existent and unobservable, and similarly, there are no sentient beings, no life, no nurturers, no persons, no power-born, no power-children, no beggars, no all-beggars, no doers, no causers to do, no knowers, no seers, and they are non-existent and unobservable. Furthermore, Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of permanence and impermanence. Similarly, Subhuti, all dharmas are of the nature of happiness, the nature of suffering, the nature of self, the nature of selflessness, the nature of emptiness, the nature of non-emptiness, the nature of signs, the nature of signlessness, the nature of aspiration, the nature of non-aspiration, the nature of peace, the nature of solitude, the nature of complete defilement, the nature of purification, the nature of arising, the nature of non-arising, the nature of cessation, the nature of non-cessation, the nature of things, the nature of non-things, the nature of loveliness, the nature of unloveliness, and they do not transcend this nature. Why is that? Subhuti, between permanence, happiness, self, and loveliness, there is complete non-existence and unobservability, therefore, how could there be any going or coming of them? Subhuti, all dharmas are the place of desire, the place of hatred.
