Because those are inseparable from the Perfection of Wisdom and skillful means. Subhuti, how is it that a person of the Bodhisattva Vehicle is unskilled in means? Subhuti, here, some persons of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, from the very beginning, are unskilled in means and give gifts. Likewise, they guard morality without skillful means, cultivate patience, exert diligence, enter into meditative concentration, and cultivate wisdom without skillful means. Then, they think to themselves, "We are those who give gifts. These are the gifts to be given. To these, gifts should be given." Likewise, "We are those who guard morality. We are those who possess morality. We are those who cultivate patience. We are those who possess patience. We are those who exert diligence. We are those who possess diligence. We are those who enter into meditative concentration. We are those who possess meditative concentration. We are those who cultivate wisdom. We are those who possess wisdom."
