is called a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. After speaking thus, the Blessed One said to the venerable son of Sharadvati: Son of Sharadvati, what is the unequal and equal mind of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the mind that is not common to all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas? After speaking thus, the venerable son of Sharadvati said to the Blessed One: Venerable Blessed One, here, from the time a Bodhisattva Mahasattva generates the first mind, he does not truly see the arising or ceasing of any dharma, nor does any dharma change in its decrease or increase, nor does any dharma exist in its complete defilement or complete purification. Venerable Blessed One, that which does not arise or cease, has no decrease, has no increase, has no complete defilement, has no complete purification, has no mind of a Shravaka, has no mind of a Pratyekabuddha, and has no mind of a perfectly enlightened Buddha, that is the unequal and equal mind of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the mind that is not common to all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. After speaking thus, the Blessed One said to the venerable son of Sharadvati: Son of Sharadvati, what you have said is true, the mind does not cling to the ground of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Venerable Blessed One, then does the mind not cling to form? Similarly, does the mind not cling to feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness? Similarly, does the mind not cling to the eye? Does the mind not cling to the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind? Similarly, does the mind not cling to forms? Does the mind not cling to sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas? Similarly, does the mind not cling to the eye element? Similarly, by analogy, does the mind not cling to the mind consciousness element? Similarly, does the mind not cling to the form element?

Similarly, combine them. Between the realms of dharma, is there no attachment of the mind? Similarly, in the mindfulness, is there no attachment of the mind? Similarly, combine them. Between the Noble Eightfold Path, is there no attachment of the mind? Similarly, in the ten powers of the Tathagata, is there no attachment of the mind? Between the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, is there no attachment of the mind? The son of Sharadvati, the venerable one, is like that. Just as it is said, there is no attachment of the mind to form. Similarly, there is no attachment of the mind to feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. Similarly, from the eye there is no attachment of the mind, similarly combine them, until there is no attachment of the mind to the mind. Similarly, from the forms there is no attachment of the mind, similarly combine them, until there is no attachment of the mind to the dharmas. Similarly, from the eye realm there is no attachment of the mind, similarly combine them, until there is no attachment of the mind to the realm of mind consciousness. Similarly, from the form realm there is no attachment of the mind, similarly combine them, until there is no attachment of the mind to the realm of dharma. Similarly, from the mindfulness there is no attachment of the mind, similarly, until the Noble Eightfold Path there is no attachment of the mind, combine them similarly. Similarly, from the ten powers of the Tathagata there is no attachment of the mind, similarly combine them, until there is no attachment of the mind to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. Then, the venerable son of Sharadvati said this to the Bhagavan: Venerable one, the mind of the Bhagavan, which is said to be all-knowing, is also without outflows and does not belong to all three realms. After saying this, Venerable Bhagavan, is the mind of all ordinary children also without outflows and not belonging to the three realms because of its inherent emptiness? Similarly, the minds of all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and the Bhagavan Tathagatas, are also
