or called affliction, or called purification, or called birth, or called cessation, or called existent, or called non-existent, one does not truly see accordingly. Similarly, one does not truly see the noble truths as permanent or impermanent. One should combine them as previously shown. Similarly, one does not truly see ignorance as permanent or impermanent. Combine them similarly, up to old age and death, as before, and combine them extensively as shown in the context of the aggregates. Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he enters and abides in the emptiness of all dharmas' own nature, and does not combine or separate with form. Similarly, he does not combine or separate with feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. He does not combine or separate with form and the past extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the past extreme itself. Similarly, he does not combine or separate with feeling, perception, formations, consciousness, and the past extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the past extreme itself. Similarly, he does not combine or separate with form and the future extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the future extreme itself. Similarly, he does not combine or separate with feeling, perception, formations, consciousness, and the future extreme. Why is that?

When a great Bodhisattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he neither combines nor separates the eye with the past extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the past extreme. Similarly, he neither combines nor separates the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind with the past extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the past extreme. Similarly, he neither combines nor separates the eye with the future extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the future extreme. Similarly, he neither combines nor separates the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind with the future extreme. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the future extreme. He neither combines nor separates the eye with the present arising. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the present arising. Similarly, he neither combines nor separates the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind with the present arising. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the present arising. Just as the internal sense bases are combined, so too should the external sense bases be combined. Similarly, he neither combines nor separates the eye element with the past extreme. Similarly, it is not with the future extreme, nor does he combine or separate with the present arising. Why is that? Because he does not truly see the past extreme, the future extreme, and the present arising. Similarly, with the form element, the eye consciousness element, the ear element, the sound element, the ear consciousness element, the nose element, the smell element, the nose consciousness element, the tongue element, the taste element, the tongue consciousness element, the body element, the touch element, the body consciousness element, the mind element, the dharma element, the mind consciousness element, and the past extreme, the future extreme, and the present arising, he neither combines nor separates. Why is that?
