If even the Teacher were to abide for kalpas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, merely proclaiming the name "sentient being," how could a sentient being arise from its inherently pure nature? This is the supreme realm of activity of the Perfection of Wisdom. Whenever I speak in accordance with this supreme Perfection of Wisdom, the excellent beings of the past prophesied that I would become a Buddha in the future. Thus spoke the Victorious One. The Perfection of Wisdom is what the protectors practice. Whoever reverently holds, upholds, and comprehends it, poison, weapons, fire, and water cannot harm them. Neither demons nor their allies can find an opportunity. Some people, after the complete passing away of the Sugata, build stupas made of seven precious substances and make offerings, filling those stupas of the Sugata with hundreds of thousands of millions of lands as numerous as the sands of the Ganges. Completely examining and holding those infinite lands, all the sentient beings dwelling therein, doing nothing else, offer divine flowers, excellent incense, and ointments for three times a kalpa or even longer. From where does the Ten-Powered Sage arise? Writing the mother of the Sugata on a scroll, holding it, and honoring it with flowers and ointments, the merit of making and offering to stupas cannot compare. The Victorious One's Perfection of Wisdom is a great mantra, which pacifies the many realms, sorrows, and sufferings of sentient beings. Whoever, past or present, is a protector of the ten directions of the world, by learning this mantra, will become an unsurpassed king of physicians. Whoever practices with benefit and compassion, by learning this mantra, will become wise and touch enlightenment. Whether it is conditioned bliss or unconditioned bliss, know that all bliss arises from this. Just as a seed is sown and arises by abiding in the earth, and having found an assembly, many pure forms arise, however many perfections and qualities of enlightenment there are, know that all of them arise from the Perfection of Wisdom. From which path does a universal monarch always travel? From that very path come the seven jewels and all the armies. From where does this Victorious One's Perfection of Wisdom proceed? From that very place do all the qualities and dharmas proceed. The Victorious One, Indra.

Please answer all the questions. If the three thousand great thousand worlds, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, were all to become Buddha lands, and all those Buddha lands were filled to the brim with the relics of the Buddhas, I would still choose to study the Prajnaparamita. Why? It is not that I disrespect the relics of the Buddhas, but rather that I make offerings by fully practicing the Prajnaparamita. For example, just as a king gains respect by relying on his ministers, the relics of the Buddhas rely on the Prajnaparamita. A precious jewel possesses all virtues and is of immeasurable value; one should pay homage to the casket in which the jewel is placed. Even if the jewel is taken out, one still cherishes the casket, because those virtues belong to that precious jewel. Similarly, by virtue of the supreme qualities of the Prajnaparamita, even after the Buddhas have passed into nirvana, one can still obtain the merit of offering to the relics. Therefore, whoever wishes to attain the qualities of the Buddhas should study the Prajnaparamita, for this is the path to liberation. Giving is the preliminary to giving, and so is wisdom; likewise, so are ethics, patience, diligence, and meditation. In order not to waste virtuous deeds, one must fully uphold it. This reveals the single dharma-nature of all dharmas. For example, in Jambudvipa, there are hundreds of thousands of trees, with various shapes and colors, and many forms. Apart from being able to state the number of shadows, there are no various shadows or distinctions. Similarly, these five paramitas of the Buddhas also attain the name of Prajnaparamita. If one fully dedicates them to the attainment of all-knowing wisdom, then these six paramitas will become enlightenment, becoming of one taste. If a Bodhisattva is unskilled and shows impermanence to form, feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, acting upon fabrication, then the wise will never destroy the dharmas. For whom form is not form, feeling is not feeling, perception is unattainable, consciousness is not consciousness, volition is unattainable, and who understands that all dharmas are by nature unborn and empty, this is the practice of the supreme Prajnaparamita. Some believe that in Buddha lands as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, all the beings dwelling there have been subdued into Arhats, but if someone writes down the Prajnaparamita and gives it to superior beings, their merit is even more excellent. Why? Because those supreme speakers are all taught here.
