Chapter Eighty-Four: The Chapter on Collected Verses. Chapter Eighty-Four: The Chapter on Collected Verses. The Eight Thousand Verse Prajñāpāramitā, Volume Fifty-eight. Then, again, the Bhagavan, in order to make those four assemblies completely rejoice, again taught this Prajñāpāramitā. At that time, these verses were spoken: Joy, reverence, and supreme faith are the near attainment, eliminating obscurations and afflictions, transcending defilements, appearing for the benefit of beings, therefore it is Prajñāpāramitā. Listen to that which the heroes practice! In this Jambudvipa, how many rivers flow, growing flowers, fruits, medicines, and forests, the dragon kings and dragon lords dwell in the Anavatapta as a support. This is the power and glory of the lord of dragons. How many of the Buddha's Śrāvaka disciples teach the Dharma, explain and speak in accordance with reason, bring supreme and noble bliss, and obtain its fruits. All of these are due to the power of the Sugata's sons. Why is that? Because whatever Dharma the Buddhas have taught, it is truly learned by excellent people who become disciples, and after realizing it, they truly proclaim it. This is done by the power of the Buddha, not by the power of one's own strength. For that which is the supreme Prajñāpāramitā, there is no objectification, Bodhisattvas do not objectify, Bodhicitta does not objectify. Having heard this, there is no delusion, no fear. Such Bodhisattvas practice the wisdom of the Sugatas. There is no form, no feeling, no perception, no volition. In this, there is not even a particle of consciousness. It does not abide in all Dharmas, it practices without abiding. Completely ungrasping, the Sugatas attain Bodhi. Just as a wandering craftsman, with skill and knowledge, dismantles the formless aggregates, a Bodhisattva who knows the Dharmas in this way does not touch Nirvana, this is the abode of wisdom. Again, what is this wisdom? Whose is it? From where does it come? Thus, understanding that all Dharmas are empty. Having thoroughly investigated, without timidity, without fear. Such a Bodhisattva is close to Bodhi. If, without knowing, one conceives of form as perception, feeling

Acting with the mind as the aggregate of consciousness, although a Bodhisattva contemplates this aggregate as empty, they do not cling to characteristics, nor do they believe in the realm of the unborn. Whoever is not form, not feeling, not perception, not mind, does not act upon consciousness, and acts without dwelling. They do not fixate on the act, their wisdom is firm, possessing the wisdom of the unborn, they touch the supreme peace of meditative stabilization. If a Bodhisattva abides in such peace here, it is the prophecy of the Buddhas of the past. I have no pride in standing or sitting, why? Because I fully know the nature of Dharma. Acting thus, one acts with the wisdom of the Sugatas. They know well that acting is without action, whatever is acted upon does not become an object of focus, this is the supreme practice of Prajnaparamita. What is not existent is called non-existent. Children measure it, making it existent and non-existent. Existence and non-existence, these two are the Dharma of non-existence, whichever Bodhisattva knows this will surely be liberated. Whoever knows the five aggregates as like illusions, does not make illusion different from aggregates, free from various perceptions, acting near to peace. This is the supreme practice of Prajnaparamita. Possessing virtuous friends and endowed with superior insight, hearing the mother of the Buddhas, they will not be afraid. Whoever has sinful friends, entrusting themselves to others, is like an unwashed vessel, ruined by contact with water. Why is this called a Bodhisattva? Cutting off attachment, desiring all attachments to be exhausted. Touching the unattached Bodhi of the Buddhas, therefore this is named Bodhisattva. Why is this called a great being? Being the most excellent among the multitude of sentient beings, cutting off the great views of the realm of sentient beings, therefore it is well proclaimed as a great being. Great generosity, great wisdom, and great power, entering the supreme Great Vehicle of the Buddhas, donning great armor, subduing the illusions of Mara, therefore it is well proclaimed as a great being. For example, a magician creates illusions at a crossroads, cutting off the heads of many ordinary people.
