Not acting inferior, I completely abandon the thought of self and the thought of sentient beings. The Bodhisattva's discipline of the perfection of morality is spoken of. If a Bodhisattva practices the path of the Victorious Ones, saying, "These sentient beings are disciplined, these sentient beings are immoral," engaging in various thoughts is truly a violation of discipline. Discipline is weakened, and there is no pure discipline in that. Whoever has no thought of self, no thought of sentient beings, and is free from attachment to thoughts, how can there be discipline or non-discipline? Whoever has no discipline or non-discipline, and no arrogant mind, this is said to be the restraint of discipline by the one who guides well. Whichever pure sentient beings are disciplined in this way, they have no regard for what is pleasing or displeasing. Giving away head and hands and feet, there is also no timid mind. Giving away all possessions, there is also no constant attachment. Knowing that all phenomena are selfless in nature, like illusions and magic, even giving away my own flesh, if there is no timid mind, then what need is there to speak of giving away external objects? If one is miserly, then there is no place to dwell. With the thought of self, one clings to things as one's own and becomes attached. How can foolish ones have the thought of giving? A miserly person will be born in the realm of the pretas. Even if born as a human, at that time they will become poor. At that time, the Bodhisattva, knowing the poverty of sentient beings, will be delighted in giving, and will always give even more. The four continents, perfectly adorned, are like ashes of saliva. One becomes joyful after giving, but obtaining the continents is not like that. The wise Bodhisattva, clearly understanding the three realms, gives this generosity to all sentient beings as many as there are. Thinking, "May it become giving," and giving in this way, may that also be dedicated to supreme enlightenment for the benefit of beings. After giving generosity, one does not dwell on things, and one never expects fruition. Those who are skilled in giving in this way are giving everything, and giving a little becomes vast and immeasurable. All sentient beings in the three realms, having completely observed and grasped them, all of them, to the Buddhas, Arhats, and Pratyekabuddhas who know the world, if one gives for endless kalpas, and the hearers seek well, the wise Bodhisattva, whichever is skillful in means, after rejoicing in the objects of those meritorious deeds, for the benefit of sentient beings, supreme enlightenment.

The supreme dedication. With supreme dedication, it overwhelms all beings. Even if it becomes a great heap of jewels and gems, A single precious lapis lazuli can overwhelm them all. Likewise, all the vast accumulations of generosity of all beings, After rejoicing, the Bodhisattva can overwhelm them. If the Bodhisattva gives to beings, Not claiming it as their own, unsparing of possessions, From this root of virtue, great power will increase, Like the waxing face of the moon in a cloudless, radiant sky. The Bodhisattva's generosity cuts off the illusory beings, Cuts off poverty and all afflictions as well. When practicing, one will obtain endless increasing enjoyment. With generosity, one fully ripens sentient beings who have become suffering. With discipline, one escapes the nature of many animal migrations, By abandoning the eight unfree states, one always finds leisure. With patience, one will obtain a great and excellent form, Golden and pleasing, becoming worthy of being seen by beings. With diligence, white qualities will not diminish, One will obtain the endless wisdom, the treasury of the Victorious Ones. With meditation, one abandons contempt for the qualities of desire, One manifests intelligence, clairvoyance, and samadhi. With wisdom, having fully understood the nature of phenomena, One will completely transcend the entirety of the three realms. The supreme lion among humans, having turned the precious wheel, Also teaches the Dharma to beings in order to exhaust suffering. Having perfected this Dharma, that Bodhisattva, Fully holds pure realms and pure sentient beings. Likewise, he fully holds the lineage of the Buddha and the lineage of the Dharma. Thus, he fully holds the lineage of the Sangha and all the Dharma. Healing the diseases of beings, becoming the supreme physician, He spoke this teaching of wisdom, endowed with the path to enlightenment, Its name is the path to enlightenment, gathering the qualities of jewels. This path is taught so that all sentient beings may attain it. From the Eighty Thousand Verses of the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, it is called the Chapter of Gathering Verses, the Eighty-fourth Chapter. The Eighty-fourth Chapter, the Chapter of Gathering Verses.
