If many beings request a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva to kill them, then with a mind free from anger, he should definitely give to those many beings, and should not generate other thoughts such as whether to give or not to give. Why is that? Because it is for the sake of those many beings that he has truly entered into the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. If he thinks in that way, then the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, the Bodhisattvas, the Pratyekabuddhas, the Arhats, the Learners, and the world including gods, humans, and asuras will also reproach you, saying, 'Who has not satisfied you as the refuge, abode, protector, and friend of all sentient beings?' Subhuti, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, while practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, is asked for limbs and parts by those who have become human or those who have become non-human, he should not generate another thought of whether to give or not to give. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks, 'I will benefit sentient beings with this body.' Therefore, for the benefit of sentient beings, he consciously and completely accepts this body. He should think like this: 'For whom I have taken this body, before they ask, take it and go wherever you want.' Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should train in the Perfection of Wisdom in this way. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva sees a beggar, he should think like this: 'If the nature of all dharmas is not perceived, then who is giving? To whom is he giving? What is he giving?' Why is that? Because these dharmas are extremely empty, and emptiness does not give to anyone, nor does it receive anything. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, while practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, for example, internal emptiness, external emptiness, internal-external emptiness, and so on in that way, up to the emptiness of self-nature, should train in this way.

It should be done in this way. Because they abide in those emptinesses and give alms, their perfection of giving will always be continuous and uninterrupted, and will be completely fulfilled. Because they have completely fulfilled the perfection of giving, even if internal and external phenomena are cut and chopped, they do not think, "Who is cutting and chopping me?" Subhuti, when I look at this with the eye of a Buddha, in the eastern world, in realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, bodhisattvas, great beings, deliberately go to the great hells of sentient beings and pacify the suffering of the hells of sentient beings. They teach the Dharma to those sentient beings in the hells of sentient beings with the three kinds of miracles: the miracle of magic, the miracle of prediction, and the miracle of instruction. They pacify the suffering of the hells of sentient beings with the miracle of magic, and then teach the Dharma with the miracle of prediction and the miracle of instruction. Those bodhisattvas also teach the Dharma with great love, great compassion, great joy, and great equanimity. Then, the sentient beings in the hells of sentient beings develop faith in those bodhisattvas and are liberated from those hells of sentient beings. From those hells of sentient beings, they see those who gradually bring suffering to an end through the three vehicles. The same should be applied to the realms of the southern, western, northern, upper, lower, and intermediate directions, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges. Subhuti, when I look at the world with the eye of a Buddha, in the eastern world, in realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, bodhisattvas, great beings, attend to and honor the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Those bodhisattvas, great beings, attend to and honor the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, with intense faith, with what is pleasing, not displeasing, with joy, not displeasure, and with reverence, not irreverence. Whatever Dharma is taught by those Buddhas, the Bhagavat.

Those teachings are also upheld by the Bodhisattvas, the great beings. Having upheld them, they also recite them. I see those who never abandon them until they have attained unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. It is the same in the realms of the world in the southern, western, northern, lower, and upper directions. Subhuti, here, when I look with the eye of a Buddha, in realms of the world as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, the Bodhisattvas, the great beings, also completely give themselves up for the sake of those born in the realm of animals. There, the Bodhisattvas, the great beings, cut off their limbs and scatter them in all directions. Those born in the realm of animals also eat the flesh of those Bodhisattvas, and thus develop love for those Bodhisattvas. Having developed love, they are liberated from the realm of animals, and having been liberated, they please the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. They attend to and honor those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and also listen to the Dharma from those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and having listened to that Dharma, they practice it accordingly. They gradually enter the realm of nirvana without remainder through the three vehicles, the vehicle of the Hearers, the vehicle of the Solitary Buddhas, or the vehicle of the Buddhas, and become completely extinguished. Subhuti, thus, the Bodhisattvas, the great beings, generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and having generated it, they practice accordingly, and thus enter the realm of nirvana without remainder and become completely extinguished, this is to be cherished. Subhuti, furthermore, here when I look with the eye of a Buddha, in realms of the world as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, the Bodhisattvas, the great beings, eliminate the suffering of the pretas for those who dwell in the realm of the pretas.
