I will never be separated from wisdom until I have fully attained perfect enlightenment. Why is that? Because without engaging in the perfection of wisdom, one cannot fully ripen other sentient beings. That is why I think so. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who thus closely examines is practicing the perfection of wisdom. After he spoke, the venerable Subhuti said this to the Blessed One: "Lord, if there is no difference between the perfections, why is this perfection of wisdom said to be the best of the five perfections? Is it the eldest, the chief, the excellent, the most excellent, the rare, the unsurpassed, the incomparable, the unequal, and the equal?" After he had spoken, the Blessed One said this to the venerable Subhuti: "Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, there is not the slightest difference between the perfections. If there were no perfection of wisdom, these five perfections would not obtain the name 'perfection.' Subhuti, relying on the perfection of wisdom, these five perfections obtain the name 'perfection.' Subhuti, for example, different bodies, when they go to the foot of Mount Sumeru, the king of mountains, those bodies will become one color. Subhuti, likewise, the five perfections, relying on the perfection of wisdom, obtain the name 'perfection,' and when they enter into all-knowingness, they become one color, that is, 'This is the perfection of giving,' and so on, combining them in this way, there is no difference between them until 'This is the perfection of wisdom.' Why is that? Because in this way, they have no intrinsic nature in anything, therefore there is no difference." He said: "Lord, if there is no difference or distinction in any dharma when following after meaning, why is it that the wisdom of

This perfection is called the supreme of those five perfections. It is called the chief, the powerful, the excellent, the most excellent, the abundant, the unsurpassed, the unequaled, the unequal, and the equal. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is so. It is so, although with regard to the pursuit of meaning, there is no dharma that is distinct or different, yet for the sake of completely liberating beings from samsara, for the sake of worldly terms and mere expression, the perfection of generosity is also established. Likewise, there is also the establishment of the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom. Because for those beings, there is neither birth nor death, no death and transmigration, no abandonment, because there are no beings, because there are no beings, all dharmas should be understood as non-existent. Subhuti, therefore, the perfection of wisdom is called the supreme of those five perfections. It is called the chief, the powerful, the excellent, the most excellent, the abundant, the unsurpassed, the unequaled, the unequal, and the equal. Subhuti, for example, a jewel-like woman is called the supreme among all the women of Jambudvipa, and between the unequal and the equal. Subhuti, likewise, the perfection of wisdom is the supreme of those five perfections, and between the unequal and the equal. He asked: Blessed One, with what intention is the perfection of wisdom called the supreme, and between the unequal and the equal? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is like this, this perfection of wisdom, because it completely holds all virtuous dharmas, and abides in the manner of not abiding in the attainment of all-knowingness. He asked: Blessed One, does the perfection of wisdom hold or abandon any dharma? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is not so. Subhuti, the perfection of wisdom is any dharma

Furthermore, one does not grasp or abandon. Why is that? Because, Subhuti, all dharmas are neither grasped nor abandoned. The question: Blessed One, by the Perfection of Wisdom, which dharmas are not grasped or abandoned? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom is not grasping or abandoning form. Similarly, up to enlightenment, one does not grasp or abandon. The question: Blessed One, how is form not grasped or abandoned? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, that which does not attend to form, and does not attend to it up to enlightenment, is not grasping form. The question: Blessed One, if one does not attend to form, and does not attend to it up to all-knowingness, Blessed One, if one does not attend to form, and does not attend to it up to all-knowingness, how can the roots of virtue increase? If the roots of virtue do not increase, how can the perfections be perfected? If the perfections are not perfected, how can one attain all-knowingness? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not attend to form, and similarly, does not attend to it up to enlightenment, then the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva's roots of virtue increase, and one attains up to all-knowingness. Why is that? Because not attending to form, and not attending to it up to enlightenment, one will become fully enlightened. The question: Blessed One, why is it that not attending to form in this way, and not attending to it up to enlightenment, one attains all-knowingness? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, attending to it will connect one to the desire realm, the form realm, or the formless realm, but not attending to it will not connect one to anything. Subhuti, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practicing the Perfection of Wisdom should not connect to any dharma. The question: Blessed One, Bodh
