It is shown by the manner of not increasing, the manner of not manifestly acting, the manner of not taking and not abandoning, the manner of not subtracting, the manner of not adding, the manner of not grasping, and the manner of not relinquishing. That is done by worldly convention, but it is not ultimately true. Why is that? Because the Perfection of Wisdom is neither a perfection nor a non-perfection. Because the Perfection of Wisdom is neither the other shore nor this shore, neither a plain nor a valley, neither equal nor unequal, neither characterized nor uncharacterized, neither worldly nor beyond worldly, neither conditioned nor unconditioned, neither virtuous nor non-virtuous, neither past nor future, nor present. Kauśika! The Perfection of Wisdom does not give any dharma, nor does it give the dharmas of solitary Buddhas, nor does it give the dharmas of Arhats, nor does it give the dharmas of ordinary beings. Indra asked: Blessed One, thus it is that this Perfection of Wisdom is the greatest. Blessed One, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he also thoroughly knows the mental conduct of all sentient beings, but does not fixate on sentient beings. He also does not fixate on the knower and the seer. He also does not fixate on form, nor does he fixate on feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. He also does not fixate on the eye, nor does he fixate on form, nor does he fixate on eye consciousness, nor does he fixate on the contact of the eye, nor does he fixate on the feeling that arises from the condition of the contact of the eye, whether it is pleasant, painful, or neither pleasant nor painful. Similarly, he does not fixate on the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. He also does not fixate on mind consciousness, nor does he fixate on the contact of the mind, nor does he fixate on the feeling that arises from the condition of the contact of the mind, whether it is pleasant, painful, or neither pleasant nor painful. He also does not fixate on the mindfulnesses, nor does he fixate on the right abandonments, nor does he fixate on the legs of magical power.

and the roots, powers, limbs of enlightenment, and the path are also not perceived. The ten powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the distinct pure awareness, and the eighteen unmixed qualities of the Buddha are also not perceived. Enlightenment, Buddha, and all the qualities of the Buddha are also not perceived. Why is that? Because this Perfection of Wisdom does not abide closely in the manner of non-perception. Why is that? Because, in this way, both the grasper and the grasped do not exist by their own nature. The Blessed One said: Kauśika! It is so, it is so. Kauśika! In this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in the manner of non-perception, even enlightenment is not perceived, so what need to mention the Bodhisattva? What need to mention even the qualities of the Bodhisattva? Indra requested: Blessed One, why does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice only the Perfection of Wisdom, and not practice the other perfections? The Blessed One said: Kauśika! A Bodhisattva does not practice only the Perfection of Wisdom, but also practices all the perfections. And that is practiced in the manner of non-perception, that is, giving is not perceived, the giver is not perceived, and the receiver is not perceived. Morality is also not perceived, the one who possesses morality is not perceived, and the one who violates morality is not perceived. Patience is also not perceived, what should be endured is not perceived, and the one who possesses patience is not perceived. Diligence is also not perceived, what is to be done is not perceived, and body and mind are not perceived. Mind is also not perceived, concentration is also not perceived, and absorption is also not perceived. Wisdom is also not perceived, what is to be known is not perceived, and the one who possesses wisdom is also not perceived. Kauśika! The Perfection of Wisdom is such that, in the manner of non-perception of all phenomena, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is the forerunner of giving. The Perfection of Wisdom is the Bodhisattva
