English

And also, knowing afflictions, purification, and arising as they are; And remembering many former abodes; and knowing death and birth with the divine eye, knowing them as they are; and because the outflows are exhausted, the mind is liberated from outflows, and wisdom is liberated, having realized it directly with one's own direct knowledge in this very life, and abiding, and knowing, "My birth is exhausted, the holy life has been lived, what was to be done has been done, there is no more like this hereafter," and also knowing it in a non-apprehending manner. Subhuti, that is the great vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Subhuti, another great vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is, for example, the four fearlessnesses. What are the four? After vowing, "I am a perfectly complete Buddha," if someone in the world of beings, including gods, demons, Brahmas, ascetics, and Brahmins, were to lawfully refute me, saying, "Alas! He has not realized these dharmas, he has not become perfectly enlightened," one does not truly see that reason. Here, because one does not truly see that reason, one obtains happiness, obtains freedom from sorrow, obtains fearlessness, and vows to be in the supreme position. In the assembly, one truly proclaims the lion's roar: "The wheel of Brahma, which cannot be turned in the world according to dharma by any ascetic, Brahmin, god, demon, or Brahma, I shall turn." That is the first fearlessness. And after vowing, "I have exhausted the outflows," if someone in the world of beings, including gods, demons, Brahmas, ascetics, and Brahmins, were to lawfully refute me, saying, "Alas! You have not exhausted these outflows," one does not truly see that reason. Here, because one does not truly see that reason, one obtains happiness, obtains freedom from sorrow, obtains fearlessness, and vows to be in the supreme position. In the assembly, one truly proclaims the lion's roar.

The wheel of Brahma, whether it be a śrāmaṇa, a Brahmin, a god, a demon, a Brahma, or anyone else, cannot be turned righteously in the world, I shall turn it. Thus it is said. And if I show those dharmas that are said to be obstructive, even if they are relied upon in that place where they do not become obstructive dharmas, they will not become obstructive. Thus, in the world of beings including gods, demons, Brahmas, and śrāmaṇas and Brahmins, I do not truly see any reason to think that someone will righteously oppose me. Because I do not truly see that reason here, I have attained happiness, attained freedom from anxiety, and attained fearlessness, and I vow to be in the position of a great and excellent bull. In the assembly, I will truly roar the lion's roar. The wheel of Brahma, whether it be a śrāmaṇa, a Brahmin, a god, a demon, a Brahma, or anyone else, cannot be turned righteously in the world, I shall turn it. Thus it is said. I have shown those paths that lead to the definite emergence of the noble ones, and if those who practice the emergence that definitely exhausts suffering, even if they practice in that place where suffering does not completely cease, defilements will not cease. Thus, in the world of beings including gods, demons, Brahmas, and śrāmaṇas and Brahmins, I do not truly see any reason to think that someone will righteously oppose me. Here, because I do not truly see that reason, I have attained happiness, attained freedom from anxiety, and attained fearlessness, and I vow to be in the position of a great and excellent bull. That is also done in a way that is unobservable. Subhuti, that is the great vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

There are four kinds of perfect knowledge. What are the four? The perfect knowledge of individual meanings, the perfect knowledge of individual dharmas, the perfect knowledge of individual definitive words, and the perfect knowledge of individual eloquence. That is knowledge through the mode of non-objectification. Subhuti, that is the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Subhuti, furthermore, the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is as follows: the eighteen unshared dharmas of a Buddha. What are the eighteen? From the night when the Tathagata manifestly and completely awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, until he showed the path to the exhaustion of suffering to the world, including gods, demons, Brahma, and the populace including ascetics and Brahmins, including gods, humans, and asuras, until the night when he completely passed into the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates, the Tathagata has no error, no clamor, no forgetfulness, no different perceptions, no lack of equanimity of mind, no unexamined equanimity, no diminished desire, no diminished diligence, no diminished mindfulness, no diminished samadhi, no diminished wisdom, no diminished liberation, no diminished vision of the wisdom of liberation, all actions of the body are preceded by wisdom and follow wisdom, all actions of speech are preceded by wisdom and follow wisdom, all actions of mind are preceded by wisdom and follow wisdom, the vision of wisdom enters without attachment or obstruction to past time, the vision of wisdom enters without attachment or obstruction to future time, the vision of wisdom enters without attachment or obstruction to present time. That is entering through the mode of non-objectification. Subhuti, that is the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Subhuti, furthermore, the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is as follows: the doors of dharani. What are the doors of dharani?
