It fills and pervades everywhere. Even up to the realm of Brahma, he controls with his body. Because of the emptiness of inherent existence, the absence of inherent existence, and the unborn nature of inherent existence, he does not fixate even on the magical displays that could become pride. He does not fixate on who becomes proud or by what they become proud. Except for keeping in mind the knowledge of all aspects, he does not generate the thought of it being a magical display or the thought of manifestly accomplishing magical displays. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, he manifestly accomplishes the knowledge of manifest realization for manifestly accomplishing the activity of magical displays. He hears the purified divine ear, which transcends human abilities, that is, he hears the sounds of gods and humans. Because of the emptiness of inherent existence, the absence of inherent existence, and the unborn nature of inherent existence. Thus, because he does not fixate on that sound, he does not become proud with the divine ear, thinking, "I have heard the sound." Except for keeping in mind the knowledge of all aspects, he does not generate or fixate on the thought of it being a divine ear. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, he manifestly accomplishes the knowledge of manifest realization for manifestly accomplishing the divine ear. He also thoroughly knows the minds of other sentient beings and other individuals as they truly are with his mind. He thoroughly knows a mind with attachment as a mind with attachment as it truly is. He thoroughly knows a mind without attachment as a mind without attachment as it truly is.

and without afflictions, and also truly knows the supreme mind as the supreme mind. Also truly knows the unsurpassed mind as the unsurpassed mind. Thus, this mind is also not a mind, because it is inconceivable, therefore it does not generate pride. Because it does not generate pride, therefore that mind which does not generate pride is also unattainable, because its nature is emptiness, its nature is peacefulness, its nature is unborn, I know. It does not generate the pride of 'I know.' Other than attending to all-aspects-knowing, it also does not generate mental attention to the mind. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva thus practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he manifestly accomplishes the knowledge of manifest cognition in order to manifestly perform the mental conduct of all sentient beings. He manifestly accomplishes the knowledge of manifest cognition in order to manifestly perform the knowledge of recollecting various former abodes. He recollects one mind, or even up to a hundred minds. One day and up to a hundred days, one month and up to a hundred months, one year and up to a hundred years, one kalpa and up to a hundred kalpas, many hundreds of kalpas, many thousands of kalpas, many hundreds of thousands of kalpas, many hundreds of millions of trillions of hundreds of thousands of kalpas, and even recollects up to the limit of the past. 'I dwelt in such and such a place, my name was such and such, my clan was such and such, my caste was such and such, I ate such and such food, my livelihood was such and such, I dwelt there for such and such a long time, the end of my life became such and such. From there, having died and transmigrated, I was born in such and such a place. From there, having died and transmigrated, I was born here.' Thus, together with the aspects, together with the location, together with the basis of what it became, and together with others, I recollect the various former abodes of myself and others. Thus, this knowledge is also not knowledge, because it is inconceivable, therefore the knowledge of manifest cognition of recollecting former abodes also does not generate pride.

Nor does he become arrogant about it. Therefore, he does not even perceive the knowledge by which he does not become arrogant, because its very nature is emptiness, its very nature is devoid, and its very nature is unborn. He does not become arrogant, thinking, "I know!" He does not even generate the thought of it being a recollected knowledge, except for focusing on all-knowingness itself. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, he manifestly accomplishes the knowledge of superknowledge in order to manifestly realize the recollection of former abodes. With the pure divine eye that transcends human capacity, he sees beings. He clearly knows beings passing away and being born, beautiful and ugly, good and bad, going to happy realms and unhappy realms, and going according to their deeds. He knows well that these beings are endowed with misconduct of body, misconduct of speech, and misconduct of mind, who slander the noble ones and hold wrong views. Because of the basis and cause of the karma of wrong views, after the dissolution of their bodies and death, they will be born in the evil destinies, evil realms, and places of wrong falling. These beings are endowed with good conduct of body, good conduct of speech, and good conduct of mind, who do not slander the noble ones and hold right views. Because of the basis and cause of their good conduct of body, speech, and mind, after the dissolution of their bodies, they will be born in happy realms, in the heavenly worlds, among the gods. Thus, with the pure divine eye that transcends human capacity, in all the realms of the ten directions, pervaded by the sphere of the Dharma of the world, reaching to the limit of the expanse of space, he truly knows the passing away and birth of the beings of the six realms as they are. In this way, that eye is not an eye, because it is inconceivable, therefore he does not become arrogant about it. He does not perceive the eye by which he becomes arrogant, because it is emptiness by its very nature, devoid by its very nature, and unborn.
