The door to liberation is emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, or the dhyanas, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the samadhis, or the gradually abiding absorptions, or the ten powers of the Tathagata, or the four fearlessnesses, or the four analytical knowledges, or the unmixed qualities of the Buddha, or the Dharma of the Hearers, or the Dharma of the Solitary Buddhas, or the Dharma of the Bodhisattvas, or by the Dharma of the Buddha, one accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings and performs the actions of those sentient beings. Among them, to all the stingy sentient beings, one teaches the Dharma thus: Give alms! Poverty is suffering, and with poverty, one cannot even accomplish one's own benefit, let alone benefit others. Therefore, give alms and make yourselves happy! And make others happy! Oppressed by poverty, gnawing at one's own flesh and blood, unable to escape from the three lower realms, thus one teaches the Dharma. To all sentient beings with bad morality, one teaches the Dharma thus: O noble ones, bad morality is suffering, and with bad morality, one cannot even accomplish one's own benefit, let alone benefit others. The ripening of bad morality is the hell beings, or the birthplace of animals, or the world of Yama. If you fall into the three lower realms, we ourselves will not be able to save you, let alone save others. Therefore, do not give even the slightest opportunity to the thought of bad morality! Otherwise, you will regret it later, thus one teaches the Dharma. To all sentient beings who harbor malice towards each other, one teaches the Dharma thus: Thus, do not harbor malice towards each other! Once anger arises, no virtuous Dharma will arise. Therefore, if you harbor anger towards each other, that is the cause of being born in hell, or being born in the birthplace of animals, or being born in the world of Yama. Therefore, do not give even the slightest opportunity to anger! Otherwise, you will regret it later.

And he teaches the Dharma, saying, "Become one who does not regret." To all those lazy sentient beings, he teaches the Dharma thus: "O noble ones, laziness is suffering.

Emptiness. Dharmas that are empty of their own nature cannot be clung to, because there is no clinging to emptiness. Thus, the Dharma is taught. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the superknowledges and benefits sentient beings. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who does not abide in the superknowledges cannot teach the Dharma to sentient beings, nor can he guide sentient beings who have gone astray onto the path. Subhuti, it is like a bird that cannot fly in the sky without wings. Subhuti, similarly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who does not rely on the superknowledges cannot teach the Dharma to sentient beings. Subhuti, therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should accomplish the superknowledges. By accomplishing these superknowledges, he brings happiness to whatever he delights in doing for the sake of sentient beings. With his divine eye, he sees world realms to the east as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and he also sees how many sentient beings are born in them. Having seen this, he goes to those realms by means of his miraculous powers, and having understood the minds of those sentient beings with his mind, he teaches the Dharma in accordance with them, speaking of generosity, or of morality, or of patience, or of diligence, or of meditation, or of wisdom, or of the noble truths, or even of the arising of things. With his divine eye, he sees world realms to the south, west, north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, below, and above, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and he also sees how many sentient beings are born in them.
