How does one cultivate the complete cultivation of the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana, loving-kindness, compassion, joy, equanimity, the samadhi of the sphere of infinite space, the samadhi of the sphere of infinite consciousness, the samadhi of the sphere of nothingness, and the samadhi of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception? It is cultivating the Prajñāpāramitā. How does one cultivate the complete cultivation of mindfulness of the Buddha, mindfulness of the Dharma, mindfulness of the Sangha, mindfulness of discipline, mindfulness of generosity, mindfulness of the deities, mindfulness of tranquility, mindfulness of breathing in and out, mindfulness of death, and mindfulness of the aspects of the body? It is cultivating the Prajñāpāramitā. How are the six superknowledges, as well as all the samādhis, all the dhāraṇī gates, the ten powers of the Tathāgata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, great love, and great compassion, cultivated in this way, and cultivation is the cultivation of the Prajñāpāramitā. How are the fruit of stream-enterer, as well as the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, Arhatship, solitary enlightenment, and even the state of omniscience, and how is the abandonment of all the afflictions that connect habitual tendencies, cultivated in this way, and cultivation is the cultivation of the Prajñāpāramitā. The Blessed One said: Subhūti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva practices the Prajñāpāramitā, he should not cultivate the notion that form is real, nor feeling and perception.
