When all the people of the place gather before him and revile and mock him, or strike him with stones and clubs, or stab and cut him with weapons, he thinks to himself: Alas, how wonderful is the Dharma-nature of all dharmas! For in this, there is no reviling or mocking, no cutting, no striking, no binding of any dharma. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom, fully upholds the Perfection of Patience. He asks: O Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom, fully uphold the Perfection of Diligence? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom, abides in the four legs of miraculous power, and possessing skillful means, generates diligence of body and mind. He goes to one world, or a hundred worlds, or a thousand worlds, or a billion hundred thousand worlds, and teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, and establishes them in the Perfection of Giving. He establishes them in the Perfection of Morality, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, and the Perfection of Wisdom. He establishes them in the four mindfulnesses. He establishes them in the Noble Eightfold Path. He establishes them in the fruit of Stream-enterer. And in the fruit of Once-returner, the fruit of Non-returner, Arhatship, and Solitary Enlightenment. He establishes them in Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment. However, in no way does he establish them in the conditioned realm, nor does he establish them in the unconditioned realm, but thus he establishes them. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom, fully upholds the Perfection of Diligence. He asks: O Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in the Perfection of Wisd

Abiding in transcendence, completely holding the perfection of meditation. The Blessed One declared: Subhuti, here a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the Prajnaparamita, and apart from the Samadhi of the Tathagata, whether it is the Samadhi of a Sravaka, or the Samadhi of a Pratyekabuddha, or even the Samadhi of a Bodhisattva, they can all enter into these Samadhis, abiding in them. In the eight liberations, they enter and arise in accordance with and contrary to the order. What are the eight? Subhuti, here a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, with form, sees forms; this is the first liberation. Without the perception of form internally, they see external forms; this is the second liberation. Having a sublime inclination; this is the third liberation. Having completely transcended all perceptions of form, the perceptions of resistance have ceased, and not focusing on various perceptions, knowing that space is infinite, approaching and abiding in the sphere of infinite space; this is the fourth liberation. Having completely transcended the sphere of infinite space, knowing that consciousness is infinite, approaching and abiding in the sphere of infinite consciousness; this is the fifth liberation. Having completely transcended the sphere of infinite consciousness, knowing that there is nothing at all, approaching and abiding in the sphere of nothingness; this is the sixth liberation. Having completely transcended the sphere of nothingness, approaching and abiding in the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception; this is the seventh liberation. Having completely transcended the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, approaching and abiding in the cessation of perception and feeling; this is the eighth liberation. Thus, in these eight liberations, they enter and arise in accordance with and contrary to the order. Abiding gradually.
