Will not realize the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Because of detachment, one does not fixate on any dharma in emptiness. Because of detachment, one does not fixate on any sentient being realizing enlightenment in emptiness. If that is the case, Blessed One, how should I understand the meaning of that teaching? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Have sentient beings been attached to "I" and "mine" for a long time? He replied: Blessed One, it is so, Sugata, it is so. Sentient beings have been attached to "I" and "mine" for a long time. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Are "I" and "mine" detached and empty? He replied: Blessed One, they are detached. Sugata, they are empty. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? However, because of "I" and "mine," do sentient beings wander everywhere and revolve everywhere? He replied: Blessed One, it is so, Sugata, it is so. Because of clinging to "I" and "mine," sentient beings wander everywhere and revolve everywhere. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, in that case, sentient beings have complete defilements. For those who do not have "I" and "mine," there is no clinging. For those who do not have clinging, sentient beings do not wander everywhere and revolve everywhere. Because for them there is no complete defilement. Subhuti, in that case, sentient beings have complete purification. He replied: Blessed One, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices in that way does not practice in form, does not practice in feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, does not practice in sense bases and elements, does not practice in dependent origination, does not practice in generosity paramita, does not practice in morality paramita, patience paramita, diligence paramita, meditation paramita, and wisdom paramita, does not practice in inner emptiness, does not practice between the emptiness of the nature of non-things

Does not apply. Does not apply to mindfulness. Does not apply to right abandonment, miraculous feet, faculties, powers, limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path. Does not apply to the noble truths, meditation, immeasurables, formless attainments, liberation, gradual abiding attainments, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the gates of dharani. Does not apply to the power of the Tathagata, fearlessness, individual perfect knowledge, great love, great compassion, and the unmixed qualities of the Buddha. Does not apply up to the state of omniscience. Why is that? Because all those dharmas that are applied, by what they are applied, and to what they are applied are all imperceptible. World Honored One, the great Bodhisattva who practices in this way is invincible by the world with its gods, humans, and asuras. World Honored One, the great Bodhisattva who practices in this way cannot be overcome by all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Why is that? Because it is like this, the Bodhisattva abides in a faultless place that is invincible. World Honored One, the great Bodhisattva who does not separate from contemplating omniscience is invincible. World Honored One, the great Bodhisattva who practices in this way is close to omniscience. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, if all the beings in Jambudvipa were to obtain human bodies without any precedence, and were to fully awaken to unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, and while they abide for as long as they live, if a son or daughter of good family were to serve them in order, respect them, honor them, make offerings to them, and dedicate that root of virtue entirely to unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, Subhuti, what do you think?

What do you think? Would the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly because of that? He replied: O Blessed One, it would increase greatly. O Well-gone One, it would increase greatly. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, even more so, the merit of that son or daughter of good family who shows, explains, analyzes, thoroughly analyzes, interprets, distinguishes, clarifies, and correctly demonstrates this Perfection of Wisdom to others, and who practices with mindfulness that accords with the Perfection of Wisdom, will increase even more. Subhuti, suppose all the beings in a trichiliocosm simultaneously obtained a human body and attained unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, becoming Buddhas, and remained alive for as long as they lived. And some son or daughter of good family served them, honored them, revered them, made offerings to them, and dedicated that root of virtue to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Subhuti, what do you think? Would the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly because of that? He replied: O Blessed One, it would increase greatly. Subhuti, suppose all the beings in Jambudvipa simultaneously obtained a human body, and they were established by some son or daughter of good family in the ten paths of virtuous actions, the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the five superknowledges, and the fruits of stream-enterer, once-returner, and non-returner.
