said: Sharadvatiputra, if a son or daughter of good family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, through unskilled means, perceives form as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives generosity as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives morality, patience, diligence, concentration, and wisdom as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives inner emptiness as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives emptiness up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, that is attachment. If one perceives the mindfulnesses as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives the right abandonments, the bases of miraculous power, the faculties, the powers, the branches of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives the noble truths as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives the concentrations, the immeasurables, and the formless attainments as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives liberation, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and superknowledges as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives samadhi and the doors of dharani, the powers of the Tathagata, fearlessness, the distinct correct knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha as emptiness, that is attachment. If one perceives emptiness up to all-knowingness, that is attachment. Sharadvatiputra, again, if a son or daughter of good family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, through unskilled means, perceives past dharmas as past dharmas, that is attachment. If one perceives future dharmas as future dharmas, that is attachment. If one perceives presently arising dharmas

To conceive of phenomena that have arisen in the present as 'phenomena' is clinging. Furthermore, Sharadvatiputra, if a son or daughter of good family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, from the time of first generating the mind, takes as their object and engages in the perfection of generosity, it is clinging. To engage in the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom is clinging. To engage in inner emptiness is clinging. To engage in the emptiness of the nature of non-things is clinging. To engage in the mindfulnesses is clinging. To engage in the right abandonments, the legs of magical power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path is clinging. To engage in the noble truths is clinging. To engage in the meditations, the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions is clinging. To engage in the liberations, the absorptions of gradual abiding, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and the superknowledges is clinging. To engage in samadhi, the doors of dharani, the powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the individual correct knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha is clinging. To engage in all-aspects-knowing is clinging. Sharadvatiputra, if someone were to say, 'What is the non-clinging of those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who engage in the perfection of wisdom?' Sharadvatiputra, for this, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, skillful in means, engaging in the perfection of wisdom, does not conceive of form as 'form.' He does not conceive of feeling, perception, formation, or consciousness as 'consciousness.' He does not conceive of past phenomena as 'past phenomena.' He does not conceive of future phenomena as 'future phenomena.' He does not conceive of phenomena that have arisen in the present as 'present phenomena.'
