It is difficult for the dull-witted to accomplish. Kauśika, therefore, any son or daughter of good family who has rightly entered into unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, if they wish to quickly and easily attain unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, should repeatedly listen to this Perfection of Wisdom. It should be taken up. It should be recited. It should be read. It should be understood. It should be properly attended to. They should take up, recite, read, understand, properly attend to, and write this Perfection of Wisdom, and should respectfully serve it with many offerings of flowers, incense, garlands, perfumes, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags. It should be honored. It should be revered. It should be worshiped. Whatever other virtuous dharmas there are are also included within this Perfection of Wisdom, and therefore, these virtuous dharmas should also be taken up, recited, read, understood, and properly attended to, such as the Perfection of Giving, the Perfection of Ethics, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Wisdom, and inner emptiness up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, as well as the four mindfulnesses, up to the noble eightfold path, up to the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, and whatever other immeasurable dharmas of the Buddha are included within this Perfection of Wisdom, these should also be taken up, recited, read, understood, and properly attended to. Why is that? Kauśika, because the son or daughter of good family will understand in this way: When the Tathāgata was previously practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he also practiced the Perfection of Wisdom, the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Ethics, and the Perfection of Giving in this way.

will understand that they have reached the other shore. Kausika, therefore, whether it is a son or daughter of good family, whether the Tathagata is dwelling or the Tathagata has passed into complete nirvana, they should rely on this Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Kausika, this Perfection of Wisdom is the support of all beings, including Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and is the support of beings such as gods, humans, and asuras. They should rely on the Perfection of Dhyana, the Perfection of Virya, the Perfection of Kshanti, the Perfection of Sila, the Perfection of Dana, and even Sarvakarajnata. Why is that? Kausika, this Sarvakarajnata is the support of all beings, including Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and is the support of beings such as gods, humans, and asuras. The Twenty-Five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, Chapter Thirty-Two. Kausika, if any son or daughter of good family, after the Tathagata has passed into complete nirvana, for the sake of offering, builds a stupa with seven precious jewels, one yojana in height and half a yojana in width, and until the end of their life, makes offerings, honors, respects, serves, and worships it with divine flowers, garlands, incense, ointments, powders, Dharma robes, clothes, umbrellas, banners, flags, and many divine musical instruments. Kausika, what do you think about this? Therefore, does the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly? Indra replied: Bhagavan, it is very much. Sugata, it is very much. The Bhagavan said: Kausika, even more so, if any son or daughter of good family writes, holds, recites, reads, understands, properly attends to this Perfection of Wisdom, and widely teaches it to others, as well as Sarvakarajnata.
