Kausika, if any son or daughter of good family, after the Tathagata has passed into complete nirvana, for the sake of making offerings, fills this Jambudvipa with stupas made of the seven precious jewels, each stupa measuring one yojana in height and half a yojana in width, and for as long as they live, they serve, honor, respect, and worship those stupas with divine flowers, garlands, incense, unguents, powders, religious robes, garments, umbrellas, banners, streamers, and many divine musical instruments. Kausika, what do you think? Does the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly? Indra replied: Blessed One, it is much. Sugata, it is much. The Blessed One said: Kausika, even more so, if any son or daughter of good family writes, holds, recites, masters, and properly contemplates this Perfection of Wisdom, they are also not separated from the mind of omniscience. Kausika, what do you think of this? Therefore, will the merit of that son or daughter of good family increase greatly? Indra replied: Bhagavan, many, Sugata, many. The Bhagavan said: Kausika, even more than that, if any son or daughter of good family writes, upholds, recites, reads, understands, and properly attends to this Prajnaparamita, and makes offerings, respects, honors, and worships it with flowers, garlands, incense, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, victory banners, streamers, and various musical instruments, then their merit will increase even more. Kausika, let alone filling this two-thousandfold medium world with relics of the Tathagata. Kausika, if any son or daughter of good family, after the complete Nirvana of the Tathagata, for the sake of making offerings, fills the three-thousandfold great thousand world with stupas made of the seven precious substances, one yojana in height and half a yojana in width, and until the end of their lives, they use divine flowers, garlands, and incense.
