also do accordingly. From "like this" onwards, up to "being attached to me like this, being attached to others, being attached to discipline, and these three attachments," they are attached and guard the discipline. This is called the worldly perfection of discipline. Why is it called the worldly perfection of discipline? Because it does not waver, does not excel, and does not transcend from the world, therefore it is called worldly. Then, what is the transcendental perfection of discipline? It is like this, the three circles are completely pure. What is the complete purity of the three circles? It is when the son of Sharadvati, endowed with life, guards the discipline of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, he does not fixate on himself, does not fixate on sentient beings, does not fixate on discipline, and does not rejoice in the ripening result, and he gives that discipline to all sentient beings, and without fixating on those sentient beings, he dedicates it to the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment, and does not truly see any characteristics. This is called the transcendental perfection of discipline. Because it wavers, excels, and transcends from the world, therefore it is called transcendental. Then, what is the worldly perfection of patience? The son of Sharadvati, endowed with life, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva cultivates patience, and cultivates it by abiding. He thinks like this: I cultivate patience for the benefit of all sentient beings. This is patience. I do as the Buddha taught. From "like this" onwards, up to "being attached to me like this, being attached to others, being attached to patience, and these three attachments," they are attached and cultivate patience. This is called the worldly perfection of patience. Why is it called the worldly perfection of patience? What is that? Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva cultivates patience, he does not perceive self, does not perceive sentient beings, does not perceive patience. He does not rejoice in the ripening, and he gives that patience to all sentient beings. He also does not perceive those sentient beings, dedicates it to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and does not truly see even a small sign. This is called transcendent patience, because it moves, excels, and transcends the world. Therefore, it is called transcendent. What is worldly diligence? Shariputra, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva exerts diligence, and exerts it by abiding. He thinks, 'I exert diligence for the sake of all sentient beings. This is the body, this is the mind, this is diligence. I act according to the Buddha's command.' From this, he clings and exerts diligence between thinking of self, thinking of others, thinking of diligence, and these three attachments. This is called worldly diligence. Why is it called worldly diligence? Because it does not move, excel, or transcend the world. Therefore, it is called worldly. What is transcendent diligence?
