Contact arises from the gathering of roots, and feeling arises from the condition of contact from the gathering of eyes. Feeling arises from the condition of contact from the gathering of ears. Feeling arises from the condition of contact from the gathering of noses. Feeling arises from the condition of contact from the gathering of tongues. Feeling arises from the condition of contact from the gathering of bodies. Feeling arises from the condition of contact from the gathering of minds. Forms, formless phenomena, conditioned phenomena, and unconditioned phenomena are all called phenomena. Therefore, because they are impermanent and do not last, all phenomena are empty of all phenomena. Why is that? Because that is their nature. This is called the emptiness of all phenomena. What is emptiness of self-nature? Form is the nature of disintegration. Feeling is the nature of experiencing. Perception is the nature of grasping. Formation is the nature of manifest formation. Consciousness is the nature of distinguishing. Because they are impermanent and do not last, whatever is the nature of conditioned phenomena and whatever is the nature of unconditioned phenomena, all those phenomena are empty by their respective natures. Why is that? Because that is their nature. This is called emptiness of self-nature. What is unapprehendable emptiness? That which the past is unapprehendable, the future is unapprehendable, and the present arising place is unapprehendable. Because they are impermanent and do not last, unapprehendable is empty by unapprehendable. Why is that? Because that is their nature. This is called unapprehendable emptiness. What is emptiness of the nature of non-things? Because all phenomena arise dependently, there is no nature of gathering. Because they are impermanent and do not last, gathering is empty by gathering. Why is that? Because that is their nature. This is called emptiness of the nature of non-things. The Twenty-Five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom, Chapter Sixteen. Furthermore, Subhuti, things are empty by things. Non-things are empty by non-things. Nature is empty by nature.

Emptiness! The other's things are empty of the other's things. What is meant by 'thing-thing'? The five aggregates. These aggregates are also empty of the aggregates. Thus, a thing is empty of a thing. How is it that the non-thing is empty of the non-thing? What is called 'non-thing' is the unconditioned. That unconditioned is also empty of the unconditioned. Thus, the non-thing is empty of the non-thing. How is it that self-nature is empty of self-nature? What is called 'self-nature' is the undeluded essence. What is emptiness in that? It is not made by consciousness, not made by sight. This is the emptiness of self-nature. What is the emptiness of the other's things? Whether the Tathagatas appear or not, the abiding nature of the Dharma, and the Dharma-nature, and the Dharma-realm, and the faultless nature of the Dharma, and Suchness, and the undeluded Suchness, and the non-other Suchness, and the true limit abides thus. Thus, these Dharmas are empty of the other. That is called the emptiness of the other's things. Subhuti, this is the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Subhuti. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is, for example: the Samadhi called Heroic Progress, the Samadhi called Precious Seal, the Samadhi called Lion's Play, the Samadhi called Good Moon, the Samadhi called Moon Banner Auspicious, the Samadhi called Exceeding All Dharmas, the Samadhi called Seal of All Dharmas, the Samadhi called Viewing the Crown, the Samadhi called Abiding in the Dharma Realm, the Samadhi called Abiding Banner Auspicious, the Samadhi called Vajra, the Samadhi called Entering the Seal of All Dharmas, the Samadhi called Abiding Like the King of Samadhis, the Samadhi called Radiating Light, the Samadhi called Arrayed Forces.
