These so-called aspects of enlightenment are merely names. The noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samādhis, the gateways of dhāraṇī, the powers of the Tathāgata, the fearlessnesses, the separate perfect knowledges, and the unshared qualities of the Buddhas, because they are without an object of focus, therefore the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddhas are merely names. Because suchness is without an object of focus, therefore suchness is merely a name. Undistorted suchness, non-other suchness, the nature of phenomena, the element of phenomena, the abiding of phenomena, the faultless nature of phenomena, and the ultimate reality, because they are without an object of focus, therefore the ultimate reality is merely a name. Because enlightenment is without an object of focus, therefore enlightenment is merely a name. Because the Buddha is without an object of focus, therefore the Buddha is merely a name. Thus, having truly understood, O son of Śāradvatī, in this way, a bodhisattva mahāsattva is said to abide perfectly in the Great Vehicle. Furthermore, O son of Śāradvatī, from the moment a bodhisattva mahāsattva generates the first thought [of enlightenment] until he sits at the essence of enlightenment, he perfects all the superknowledges and ripens sentient beings. In order to make offerings and serve the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, with whatever means are appropriate, he serves, honors, respects, and makes offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, going from Buddha-field to Buddha-field. And from those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, he listens to the Dharma of this very Bodhisattva Vehicle. Abiding in the Bodhisattva Vehicle, he goes from Buddha-field to Buddha-field,

He makes the Buddha-field completely pure, and he makes sentient beings completely mature, but for him, neither the concept of a Buddha-field arises, nor does the concept of sentient beings arise, nor does the concept of a Buddha arise. He abides in the state of non-duality, and he specifically contemplates and fully grasps the kind of body that has the power to benefit sentient beings. Until he obtains the wisdom of all-knowingness, he will never be separated from that vehicle. Even after he obtains the wisdom of all-knowingness, he will turn the excellent wheel of Dharma that cannot be surrounded by the world, including all the Shravakas, solitary Buddhas, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans. When he attains unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment, in the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River in the eastern direction, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, praise his qualities, proclaiming: In a certain world, there is a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Great Vehicle, the Unexcelled Vehicle, abiding in the Supreme Vehicle, named so-and-so, who has attained all-knowingness, and having attained all-knowingness, will turn the wheel of Dharma. Thus, they proclaim his fame and sing praises. In each of the directions of the south, west, north, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, below, and above, in the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, praise his qualities, proclaiming: In a certain world, there is a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Great Vehicle, the Unexcelled Vehicle, abiding in the Supreme Vehicle, named so-and-so, who has attained all-knowingness, and having attained all-knowingness, will turn the wheel of Dharma. Thus, they proclaim his fame and sing praises. Thus, O venerable Sharadvatiputra, the Bodhisattva
