The door to liberation, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, as well as supernormal knowledges, samādhis, the doors of dhāraṇīs, the powers of the Tathāgata, the fearlessnesses, the separate correct knowledges, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha—until these are completely perfected, one cannot fully ripen sentient beings or attain omniscience. Therefore, because of this, when a bodhisattva mahāsattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, whatever virtuous dharma they create, they understand it all to be like a dream. They understand it to be like an echo. They understand it to be like a mirage. They understand it to be like an illusion. They understand it to be like a magic trick. They understand it to be like an emanation. When they practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they understand the Perfection of Generosity to be like a dream. Like an echo, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a magic trick, like an emanation, they understand it. When they practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they understand the Perfection of Discipline to be like a dream. Like an echo, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a magic trick, like an emanation, they understand it. When they practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they understand the Perfection of Patience to be like a dream. Like an echo, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a magic trick, like an emanation, they understand it. When they practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they understand the Perfection of Diligence to be like a dream. Like an echo, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a magic trick, like an emanation, they understand it. When they practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they understand the Perfection of Meditation to be like a dream. Like an echo, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a magic trick, like an emanation, they understand it.
