So. Even when practicing the perfection of meditation, one does not abide in it. Even when practicing the perfection of wisdom, one does not abide in it. One enters the first dhyana, but does not abide in it. Why is that? Because the first dhyana is empty of its own nature of dhyana. That which is being entered into is also empty of its own nature. The ways in which one enters into it are also empty of their own nature. One enters the second dhyana, but does not abide in it. Why is that? Because the second dhyana is empty of its own nature of dhyana. That which is being entered into is also empty of its own nature. The ways in which one enters into it are also empty of their own nature. One enters the third dhyana, but does not abide in it. Why is that? Because the third dhyana is empty of its own nature of dhyana. That which is being entered into is also empty of its own nature. The ways in which one enters into it are also empty of their own nature. One enters the fourth dhyana, but does not abide in it. Why is that? Because the fourth dhyana is empty of its own nature of dhyana. That which is being entered into is also empty of its own nature. The ways in which one enters into it are also empty of their own nature. One enters into loving-kindness, but does not abide in it. Why is that? Because loving-kindness is empty of its own nature of loving-kindness. That which is being entered into is also empty of its own nature. The ways in which one enters into it are also empty of their own nature. One enters into compassion, but does not abide in it. Why is that?
