Do. By all means, thoroughly establish it in such a way that it does not dwell on duality. Why is that? Because the emptiness of inherent existence is not dualistic; it is not to be made into two. A dharma that is not to be made into two does not dwell on anything. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with skillful means, he encourages beings to engage in the diligence of the emptiness of inherent existence and subsequently teaches them: O son of good family, giving, or ethics, or patience, or diligence, or meditation, or wisdom, or inner emptiness, or outer emptiness, or inner-outer emptiness, or emptiness of emptiness, or great emptiness, or ultimate emptiness, or conditioned emptiness, or unconditioned emptiness, or emptiness beyond extremes, or emptiness without beginning or end, or emptiness without abandonment, or emptiness of inherent existence, or emptiness of all dharmas, or emptiness of self-nature, or emptiness of non-apprehension, or emptiness of non-entity, or emptiness of essence, or emptiness of the essence of non-entity. Or, the four mindfulnesses, or, the four correct abandonments, or, the four legs of miraculous power, or, the faculties, or, the powers, or, the branches of enlightenment, or, the eightfold noble path, or, the four noble truths, or, the meditations, or, the four immeasurables, Or, the formless absorptions, or, the liberations, or, the absorptions of dwelling in cessation, or, the doors of liberation: emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, or, the six superknowledges, or, the samadhis, or, the doors of dharani, or, the ten powers of the Tathagata, or, the four fearlessnesses, or, the four analytical knowledges. Or, great love, or, great compassion, or, the unshared dharmas of the Buddha, etc., strive to practice diligently, and also, do not fixate on these dharmas as dualistic, nor fixate on them as non-dualistic. Why is that? Because these dharmas are empty of inherent existence; the emptiness of inherent existence should not be fixated on as dualistic, nor should it be fixated on as non-

I do not consider it so. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he skillfully matures beings in the emptiness of their own nature. Having matured them, he gradually establishes them in the fruit of Stream-entry, establishes them in the fruit of Once-returning, establishes them in the fruit of Non-returning, establishes them in Arhatship, establishes them in Solitary Enlightenment, establishes them in the knowledge of the aspects of the path, establishes them in Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he skillfully advises and instructs beings whose minds are distracted, saying: "Come, son of good family, meditate on concentration! Do not think of distraction, nor think of concentration! Why? Because these dharmas are empty by their very nature. In the emptiness of their own nature, there is no dharma to be fixated upon, whether it is distraction or one-pointedness. If you abide in that concentration and practice the emptiness of own-being, then whatever virtuous deeds you do with body, speech, and mind, whether you give generously, maintain moral discipline, practice patience, exert effort, cultivate concentration, cultivate wisdom, practice inner emptiness, practice outer emptiness, practice inner-outer emptiness, practice emptiness of emptiness, practice great emptiness, practice ultimate emptiness, practice conditioned emptiness, practice unconditioned emptiness, practice emptiness beyond extremes, practice emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness, practice emptiness of non-abandonment, practice emptiness of own-nature, practice emptiness of all dharmas, practice emptiness of self-character, practice emptiness of non-apprehension, practice emptiness of non-entity, practice emptiness of essence, practice emptiness of non-entity essence, practice mindfulness
