Thus, one knows the arising and ceasing of consciousness. If asked, how does one know the suchness of consciousness? The suchness of consciousness is unborn and unceasing, without coming and without going, not entirely afflicted, not entirely purified, does not decrease, does not increase, is not inverted, but abides in suchness; therefore, it is called suchness. Thus, one knows the suchness of consciousness. If asked, how does one know the sense bases? It is knowing that the internal dharmas are empty of internal dharmas, and the external dharmas are also empty of external dharmas. Thus, one knows the sense bases. If asked, how does one know the elements? It is knowing that the eye element is also empty of the nature of the eye element, the form element is also empty of the nature of the form element, the eye consciousness element is also empty of the nature of the eye consciousness element, the ear element is also empty of the nature of the ear element, the sound element is also empty of the nature of the sound element, the ear consciousness element is also empty of the nature of the ear consciousness element, the nose element is also empty of the nature of the nose element, the smell element is also empty of the nature of the smell element, the nose consciousness element is also empty of the nature of the nose consciousness element, the tongue element is also empty of the nature of the tongue element, the taste element is also empty of the nature of the taste element, the tongue consciousness element is also empty of the nature of the tongue consciousness element, the body element is also empty of the nature of the body element, the touch element is also empty of the nature of the touch element, the body consciousness element is also empty of the nature of the body consciousness element, the mind element is also empty of the nature of the mind element, the dharma element is also empty of the nature of the dharma element, and the mind consciousness element is also empty of the nature of the mind consciousness element. Knowing in this way, thus one knows the elements.

It is so. How does one know dependent arising? One knows that dependent arising is unborn, and similarly, one knows that dependent arising is unceasing, not discontinuous, not permanent, not of one meaning, not of different meanings, not coming, not going, and is free from elaboration and peaceful. That is how one knows dependent arising. How does one know the noble truths? One knows the noble truth of suffering. One knows the origin, the cessation, and the path leading to the cessation, the noble truth. How does one know the noble truth of suffering? One knows suffering. One knows the truth. One knows the noble truth. Liberation from the two is the noble truth, and non-duality is known as the noble truth. Similarly, one knows the origin, the cessation, and the path leading to the cessation, the noble truth. That is how one knows the noble truths. How does one know the suchness of suffering? One knows that the suchness of suffering is non-erroneous. Similarly, one also fully understands the suchness of the origin, the cessation, and the path. That is how one knows the suchness of the noble truths. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, while practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, observes those mutually different dharmas in this way, will he not disturb the realm of dharma?" The Blessed One replied: "Subhuti, if there were any dharma that does not belong to the realm of dharma, then it would be disturbed. Subhuti, no other dharma apart from the realm of dharma is perceived. If it were perceived, then the realm of dharma would also be disturbed. Why is that? Subhuti, whether it is the Tathagata, or the Bodhisattva, or the Pratyekabuddha, or the Shravaka of the Tathagata, apart from the realm of dharma

No dharma whatsoever was perceived. Since it was not perceived in that way, there is no dharma other than the realm of dharma that can be designated as such. Subhuti, thus a bodhisattva mahasattva, practicing the perfection of wisdom, should train in the realm of dharma. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, a bodhisattva mahasattva, training in the realm of dharma, what will he train in? The Blessed One replied: Subhuti, a bodhisattva mahasattva, practicing in the realm of dharma, will train in all dharmas. Why is that? Subhuti, thus all dharmas are the realm of dharma. Asked: Blessed One, why are all dharmas the realm of dharma? The Blessed One replied: Subhuti, thus whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the realm of dharma of all dharmas remains as it is, in a manner without distinction. Subhuti, that realm of dharma is like this: good and non-good dharmas, worldly and transworldly dharmas, contaminated and conditioned dharmas, uncontaminated dharmas, culpable and conditioned dharmas, non-culpable dharmas, all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. Subhuti, thus a bodhisattva mahasattva, practicing the perfection of wisdom, training in the realm of dharma, will train in all dharmas. Asked: Blessed One, if all dharmas are the realm of dharma, how should a bodhisattva mahasattva, practicing the perfection of wisdom, train in form? How should he train in feeling? How should he train in perception? How should he train in formation? How should he train in consciousness? How should he train in the elements and sources? How should he train in dependent origination? How should he train in the perfection of generosity? How should he train in the perfection of discipline? How should he train in the perfection of patience? How should he train in the perfection of diligence? How should he train in the perfection of concentration?
