Ah, those Bodhisattvas who have generated the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and who diligently engage in such activities, thus perform many benefits. Subhuti, I again, from here, with the Buddha's eye, observe the world. In the world realms in the downward direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas give up their own bodies for the sake of sentient beings in the animal realm. There, those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas cut and sever their limbs and scatter them in the ten directions. Those sentient beings belonging to the animal realm eat the flesh of those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, and thereby develop loving-kindness towards those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Those who have developed loving-kindness arise from the animal realm. Having arisen, they are born among gods and humans. Even having been born there, they please the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. They honor and respect those Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Having heard the Dharma from those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, they diligently engage in such activities. Those individuals, through the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, the Great Vehicle, or those three vehicles, gradually enter into the realm of nirvana without remainder. Subhuti, thus, those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who have generated the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and who diligently engage in such activities, thus perform many benefits. Subhuti, I again, from here, with the Buddha's eye, observe the world. Having eaten the flesh of those corpses, they develop loving-kindness towards those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, and because they have developed loving-kindness, they arise from the realm of animals. Having arisen, they are born among gods and humans, and having been born in those places, they also please the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. They attend to and honor those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and having heard the Dharma from those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, they diligently practice accordingly. They see that those who, by means of the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, the Great Vehicle, or those three Vehicles, gradually and completely pass into Nirvana in the realm of Nirvana without remainder of aggregates. Subhuti, in this way, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment and diligently practice accordingly, perform so many benefits. In the eastern world, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, for the sake of sentient beings in the realm of hungry ghosts, in those realms of hungry ghosts, completely pacify all the suffering that exists, and teach the Dharma in order to abandon miserliness. In those places, do those sentient beings in the realm of hungry ghosts generate a mind of loving-kindness towards those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas? They arise from those realms of hungry ghosts, and having arisen from those realms of hungry ghosts, by that very root of virtue, they are born in the world of gods and the world of humans, and until they completely pass into Nirvana in the realm of Nirvana without remainder of aggregates, and never become separated from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, I see these things.
