One does not cling to the state of an Arhat. One does not cling to solitary enlightenment. One does not cling to the knowledge of the aspects of the path. One does not cling to omniscience. One does not abide closely in order to fully grasp becoming a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha. This Perfection of Wisdom does not cause a Bodhisattva Mahasattva to fully attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. It is not abandoning the level of a Hearer. It is not abandoning the level of a Solitary Buddha. It is not contrary to omniscience. Thus, if the abiding of Dharma is taken as the standard, this Perfection of Wisdom does not generate any Dharma, nor does it eliminate any. Asked: Blessed One, if this Perfection of Wisdom does not generate any Dharma, nor does it eliminate any, then, Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, give alms? How does one maintain discipline? How does one cultivate patience? How does one exert effort? How does one enter into meditative concentration? How does one cultivate wisdom? The Blessed One replied: One should give alms focusing on omniscience. One should maintain discipline focusing on omniscience. One should cultivate patience focusing on omniscience. One should exert effort focusing on omniscience. One should enter into meditative concentration focusing on omniscience. One should cultivate wisdom focusing on omniscience. And, having made those roots of virtue common with all sentient beings, one should dedicate them entirely to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, when those roots of virtue of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva are dedicated entirely to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, the cultivation of the six perfections will be completely fulfilled. The loving-kindness that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva cultivates is all

is the All-Knowingness itself. That Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who is inseparable from the six perfections is inseparable from the All-Knowingness itself. Therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who wishes to be fully awakened to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment should practice the six perfections. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the six perfections, having completely perfected all roots of virtue, will attain the All-Knowingness itself. Subhuti, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should diligently practice the six perfections. Asked: Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva diligently practice the six perfections?
