And thinking that aspiring to the Hearer's ground and aspiring to the Solitary Buddha's ground are different from my way. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who thus fully understands is practicing the perfection of morality. For the sake of those sentient beings, he is always reviled with harsh and rude words, and even if beaten, he does not generate a mind of anger. Even if struck and beaten with stones, sticks, and weapons, or if the limbs of the body are cut, or even if the limbs and branches are cut off, he does not generate a mind of hatred. Why is that? Because he fully understands that all sounds are like echoes. He fully understands that all forms are like illusions. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who thus fully understands is practicing the perfection of patience. For the sake of those sentient beings, in order to fully seek all roots of virtue, he does not generate a mind of laziness. Why is that? Because he thinks like this: Even being born in the heavens is difficult for the lazy to obtain, what to say of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? Therefore, from now until I manifest unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, I shall exert effort and never abandon diligence. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who thus fully understands is practicing the perfection of diligence. For the sake of those sentient beings, he does not have a distracted mind. Why is that? Because he thinks like this: Even being born in worldly meditation is difficult for those with a distracted mind to obtain, what to say of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? Therefore, from now until I manifest unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, I shall not have a distracted mind. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who thus fully understands is practicing the perfection of meditation. For the sake of those sentient beings, when will I manifest unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment

From the Bodhi on earth until the complete realization of perfect enlightenment, one will never be separated from wisdom. Why is that? It is because one thinks like this: Without engaging in the Perfection of Wisdom, one cannot fully ripen sentient beings through other means. Therefore, I should not even generate any mind that is contrary to wisdom. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who fully contemplates in this way practices the Perfection of Wisdom for the benefit of sentient beings. Question. Blessed One, if there is no difference among the perfections, why is this Perfection of Wisdom called the foremost of the five perfections? Called the chief? Called the supreme? Called the sacred? Called the excellent? Called the abundant? Called the unsurpassed? Called the incomparable? Called the unequaled? Called the unequal and equal? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is just so. It is just so. Subhuti, there is no difference whatsoever among the perfections. If there were no Perfection of Wisdom, then these five perfections would not even obtain the name of perfection. Relying on the Perfection of Wisdom, these five perfections will also obtain the name of perfection. Subhuti, for example, various different bodies, if they go to the foot of Mount Sumeru, the king of mountains, will become one color. Subhuti, similarly, relying on the Perfection of Wisdom, these five perfections will also obtain the name of perfection. If they all go to Omniscience, it will be like this: they will become one color in the color of Omniscience. This is the Perfection of Generosity. This is the Perfection of Discipline. This is the Perfection of Patience. This is the Perfection of Diligence. This is the Perfection of Meditation. This is the Perfection of Wisdom. There is no such distinction whatsoever. That

Why is that? Because, like this, those do not have own-being. Therefore, there is no difference. Asked: Blessed One, since like that, there is no difference or distinction in any dharma, then what is it that will be subsequently attained? For what reason is the Perfection of Wisdom called the best of those five perfections? Called the chief? Called the supreme? Called the sacred? Called the excellent? Called the abundant? Called the unsurpassed? Called the unequaled? Called the unequal and equal? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is just so. It is just so. For the meaning to be subsequently attained, there is no distinction or difference in any dharma. However, if it is to be discussed according to worldly terms and conventions, then for the purpose of completely liberating beings from samsara, there is also the Perfection of Giving. There is also the Perfection of Ethics. There is also the Perfection of Patience. There is also the Perfection of Diligence. There is also the Perfection of Meditation. There is also the Perfection of Wisdom. Those beings also have no birth, no death, no transference, no arising. Since there are no beings, all dharmas should be known as non-existent. Subhuti, by these means, the Perfection of Wisdom is called the best of these five perfections, called the chief, called the supreme, called the sacred, called the excellent, called the abundant, called the unsurpassed, called the unequaled, called the unequal and equal. Subhuti, like this, for example, among all the women in Jambudvipa, the jewel woman is called the best, called the chief, called the supreme, called the sacred, called the excellent, called the abundant, called the unsurpassed, called the unequaled, called the unequal and equal, just like that. Asked: Blessed One, since like that, the Perfection of Wisdom is called the best, called the chief, called the supreme, called the sacred, called the excellent, called the abundant, called the unsurpassed, called the
