Dwelling in having reached the far shore, the opportunity for the mind of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha does not arise. Why is that? Because it is like this: he does not observe the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, wherever it is fully ripened, such as that Hearer's ground or Solitary Buddha's ground. He also does not observe the mind. From the moment of generating the first mind until abiding in the essence of enlightenment, I have also abandoned killing. Furthermore, I also correctly encourage the abandonment of killing, and I speak of the benefits of abandoning killing. For others who have abandoned killing, I also speak of their benefits and rejoice with them. I have also abandoned taking what is not given. Furthermore, I also correctly encourage the abandonment of taking what is not given, and I speak of the benefits of abandoning taking what is not given. For others who have abandoned taking what is not given, I also speak of their benefits and rejoice with them. I have also abandoned sexual misconduct. Furthermore, I also correctly encourage the abandonment of sexual misconduct, and I speak of the benefits of abandoning sexual misconduct. For others who have abandoned sexual misconduct, I also speak of their benefits and rejoice with them. I have also abandoned lying. Furthermore, I also correctly encourage the abandonment of lying, and I speak of the benefits of abandoning lying. For others who have abandoned lying, I also speak of their benefits and rejoice with them. I have also abandoned divisive speech. If that discipline does not become attached to any dharma of the Hearers or Solitary Buddhas, what need is there to mention others? Subhuti, in this way, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the Perfection of Wisdom and fully upholds the Perfection of Discipline. Asked: Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abide in the Perfection of Wisdom and fully uphold the Perfection of Patience? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the Perfection of Wisdom and generates patience in accordance with it. He thinks to himself, 'Here, no dharma whatsoever arises, ceases, appears, disintegrates, dies, is reviled, is slandered, is cut, is struck.' Thus, from the moment he first generates the mind of enlightenment until he sits at the essence of enlightenment, if all sentient beings come before him and revile him, slander him, strike him with stones and clubs, stab him with weapons, cut and sever him, he thinks to himself, 'How wonderful is the nature of dharmas! Here, there is no reviling, no slandering, no cutting, no striking, no binding of any dharma.' Subhuti, in this way, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the Perfection of Wisdom and fully upholds the Perfection of Patience. Asked:
